We discovered Chichos while attending a movie at Cinemark. We were thrilled to find an authentic Cuban restaurant. The people... there are very kind and thoughtful. It feels like a family run business. I ordered a Cuban style chicken grilled sandwich witha side of crispy tostones. My wife ordered a fantastic chicken plate with yummy Cuban rice and platanos. We got there earlybefore the Sat. dinner rush, but by the time we finished eating the restaurant was buzzing with customers. Read more

I came across Chicos last week. I'm always on the search for a good Cubano Sandwich in Austin. Sadly I still have not found it.... It was strange as I spoke to the older lady, I felt she was the owner & we talked about my quest to find a good cubano. It tookthem 15 min to prepare the order and after 1 bite I couldn't eat it. Where do I start! Authentic cuban food. The tostones or twice fried green plantains were some of the crispiest, crunchiest I've... ever had. The fried pork or macitas de cerdo were perfectly seasoned and fried. The guava and cheese turnover was flaky,perfectly sweet and delectable. The cortadito was a perfect mix of coffe and milk, just like back home. My friend had the cafecubano and she loved it. What are you waiting for? Don't sleep on this little hole in the wall is definitely hiding their delicious food. Yuca con Carne was fresh while the pork... was tender and not over cooked plus the yuca had thar garlic sauce that hit the taste buds right on the head. Doble Queso is thepizza you imagine from cartoons As the cheese is oozing off of the pizza and the ends are nice and crispy and not overcookedwhile packing so a good amount with flavors it was just cheese on it. Great place to get your Cuban Coffee, taste strong as is suppose to be. Bakery is delicious and big sized, mamey smoothie is to... die for and the fish croquetas are so good!! Definitely taste like Cuba. Service is fast and the staff is always in good moodand that?s always a plus.
