This place was really quaint, with wonderful music and helpful staff. The food was delicious and we got chips and salsa before... our food and drinks arrived, which was a delightful surprise. The nachos were so so good! Read more

Very Disappointed! Been wanting to try this place for some time. Got there, and one of the first things they say to me is.. We... don't do take out after five. First of all, who doe not do takeout after five. Order my Tacos, ask her if it comes with salsaor sour cream.. and she just says no. I ask for no cilantro.. so instead. They put nothing on the tacos. There was at leastsupposed to be onions and a few other things. Bare to the bone. I eventually ask the waiter if I can buy salsa.. and he says itshould have come with. The girl had a bad attitude.. was very unhelpful and the tacos were cold. Will not return. Read more

Their Grand Marnier Margaritas ???? are to die for! We started off with the Guac, salsa and chips. So fresh! I had the deluxe... fajitas (chicken shrimp and chicken) and after sharing was still able to take some home! The best I've ever had! The sopa Aztekawas hit as was the veggie Enchalada and beef Burrito. The service was wonderful and we had a cozy spot by the window! Read more

Went at the request of my wife for her bday lunch. Entrance can be confusing and it appears most go to the shop entrance... instead of restaurant (clever ????). I have eaten in Mexico and lived/visited areas in US with Mexican influences and I mustsay that this is the most authentic one I've been to in Ontario. Only disappointment for me was the burrito lunch special. Iordered beef and should have opted for chicken or pork options. Otherwise great food and staff and really did not to expect tofind one in Peterborough. Read more

Dined here last night. As a restaurant owner and chef, I went in there after pandemic to help locally female owned restaurant... and not a big chain. I want to be fair in my review, knowing hardships faced by the food industry, however, I believeconstructive criticism would help owner and managers to improve customer experience. Remember, customers too work hard to earntheir money and have been equally battered with pandemic lockdowns too, so its very important to give them a positive experienceto make them return. The service was not at all acceptable. The manager or owner had a terrible attitude, did not have afriendly, caring presentation. The menus were dumped on the table and the way she communicated was rather aggressive. TheMargarita I ordered was excellent. The free salsa/tortilla chips were tasteless and lacked flavour. The prawn dish I orderedlacked authentic, rich, diverse Mexican flavours, but was excessively salty. I but into a sugar cube sized salt blob that mademe throw out the bite, and ruined my palate for rest of the dish. The other dish we ordered had melted cheese, but it hardenedvery quickly, likely having microwaved it when they melted it. Presentation of the dishes were good but the plates wereliterally thrown and dumped on our table rudely. When I asked for dessert menu, she rudely asked to wait and almost inthreatening tone said they have only flan for dessert and vanished. Another server came to the table with dessert menu and Iordered the flan. It was hard and bit dry, with caramel sauce in top. tasted ok but it was far from fresh, likely too old. Ileft a generous tip, still wondering why the servers and owner/manager had aggressive attitude and unfriendly outlook. Wetreated her respectfully and were puzzled why they lost a good customer yesterday. When passion, quality, flavours, textures offood, service and ambience are missing, discerning customers notice. As for Peterborough downtown is concerned, it was garbagedump Read more

My wife found this place trying to find me some authentic Mexican food since I’m from Mexico. This place is the real deal and... reminded me of restaurants back home. Service was absolutely amazing and extremely accommodating towards our requests. Cleanrestaurant. Very nice decor. Prices are reasonable! Only thing I would add is to please get more of a variety of spicy salsas oreven a homemade salsa just spicier. Like la costeña taquera sauce which are is an authentic Mexican sauce, and very spicy.Definitely going back soon! It just felt like home. I wish lived closer to this restaurant. Read more

La Hacienda is a wonderful restaurant serving fresh, authentic Mexican food in an intimate and homey environment. We had some... margaritas, one of their tacos, a cactus salad, chips and salsa (roja), and the churros. My classic margarita was tasty andsimple with a salt rum and the taco was fresh and packed with flavor. The cactus salad was interesting and the chips and salsawere vibrant. The churros themselves were fresh and delicious, but the dip they came with would have been better warm. Overall,a very pleasant experience in this laid back cantina! Read more

Wow!! This was our first time visiting, and it will not be our last. Very nice atmosphere on the patio in this beautiful... weather! Everything we ordered tasted fresh and amazing! Service was great! I only have one complaint, and that is that I didn't come here sooner. We have always lived in Ptbo and it's clear that we have been missing out on this awesome restaurant!HIGHLY recommend!! ???? Can't wait to try the rest of the menu! Read more
