It?s true. Everything they say about this place. I wouldn?t say I?m the biggest fried chicken fan but it was very good,... especially considering it doesn?t have skin on it which tends to be my favorite part. The rolls with butter were amazing aswell. Some of the sides like peas and carrots felt like an afterthought and generic but overall, it was very good and can?t waitto go back. Read more

Mattox is a great place to go for a nicer than average dinner. The atmosphere is better than your average steak house. It's big... but doesn't feel generic. The food is great! Last time I went I got the Turkey Steak and I wasn't disappointed. Their regularsteaks and fish are great too. You can't really go wrong here. Having the raspberry butter available to put on your breads won'tchange your life but it's a nice touch. Also, Maddox is made for people with disabilities in mind. The doors are wide and thereis a convenient ramp with the little step up that needs to be made to go to the dining area. Read more

Maddox- home of the best comfort food around. I mean, UNLIMITED warm, fluffy, buttery delicious rolls, corn pones and housemade... raspberry butter- come on! That's hard to beat. You barely have room for anything else you order. So you might as well share ameal. They are pricey anyways. $15-$20 per entree. Shrimp steak was unique and pretty tasty. The clam chowder and creamyvegetable soups were both awesome. Husband got the Bison burger, and said it was okay. Wish we had room for dessert. All in allwe will be back, but only 3 starts from me for their prices, AND in my opinion they don't hold a candle to the C&B maddox inLayton who has the BEST chicken tenders and fried chicken I've ever tasted in my life. ***If you liked my review or found it tobe helpful, give a thumbs up! ???? thanks! Tried the chicken fried steak. Most chicken fried steaks I?ve had have a thick, crispy and flavorful breading while the inside... is generally a cube steak, smothered in a house made gravy. What I received was a square hamburger patty with a thin, soggybreading - very underwhelming. The food is decent but overpriced for what it is. My wife got the hamburger. Outside lookedpromising but the taste and texture were crumbly/lacking flavor. The wait staff was attentive and polite. Didn?t have theappetite to finish my plate. I probably wouldn?t dine here again. Read more

The famous Maddox! I haven?t been here in years. Recently went here & it did not disappoint! The complimentary rolls & corn... bread with their special raspberry butter is to die for. They unfortunately didn?t have the impossible steak for a vegetarianoption but were able to make me a veggie plate. The vegetables were really good & they made the best little sautéed mushroomsI?ve ever had in my life! My dad had the chicken fried steak & he was in heaven with that. Kamree was our waitress & she wasphenomenal, putting up with all our banter & jokes! Definitely recommend!! Read more

I have passed by this restaurant for decades, but today was the first time eating here. What an experience! I don't know where... to start. Even though the place is huge, the service was first rate. From start to finish. The food was great. The portionswere really generous. You start with rolls and corn bread. Then a choice of soup or salad. My salad was very good. For my maincourse I had the famous fried chicken. It came with breast, thigh, wing, and drumstick, fries, and actually tasty carrots. I hadto take most of it home! For dessert we shared one single, but very large piece of banana cream pie. It was delicious. Iwanted to mention that if you are a large group how important it is to call in advance and make a reservation. When we calledthe day before to make a reservation they said that they could not take a reservation for a party of our size as all of thelarge tables were taken, but that we could just show up and take our chance and wait for a table. We waited over an hour. Theplace was packed. Our fault not theirs as we were last minute. So make a reservation in advance. Read more

This place is just a Utah legend! We come here when we travel north to Brigham City or Logan. We had our parents 50th wedding... anniversary celebration at Maddox in 2017. It was wonderful. The food was exceptional, we chose to offer our guests Maddox FriedChicken or Sirloin as dinner options. Both dishes were fantastic. We stopped there yesterday for our dinner on our home fromBear Lake. It was was late, 8:40 pm. We did not go in the restaurant, we used the drive in option that still has car hopsservice! Even though they were about to close, they were so prompt and friendly, the service was great. We love their friedchicken, it is skinless chicken breaded in a super wonderful flavorful crust. I highly recommend Maddox. They have a widevariety of favorites, check out the picture of the menu and they do offer yummy buffalo burgers. Read more

Wow!!! I don't get out here very often, but I'm glad I stopped to eat on my way back to Salt Lake! The spicy steak was delicious... as well as the rolls! I was observing the table next to me, and they were a little difficult with their waitress Kaitlyn but shewas awesome and handled them perfectly. Also, Carter who was my waiter was professional and just a great guy! Thank you for awonderful experience! Read more
