Went there this morning looking for smoked jowled bacon. Didn't find it in the usual place that they stocked it so I walked up... to the butcher section to ask if they had any. The first man said no but the young man that stood out was very nice and asked meif I wanted him to look in the back to see if there was some.I told him no not to waist his time because the other employee saidthey were out but the young man went away and low and behold he found a whole case!I'd like to thank that young man for his 100%customer service he didn't see my skin color he saw me as a customer. He made me have a little faith just like the young cashiershe's very friendly and always has a smile.I do my best to avoid the older woman I can feel her hate for people of color. Read more

This place is just the best! We have been buying our meat here since we moved to Peoria close to 30 years ago. This is the best... quality meat I have seen anywhere, and they do not skimp on the portions. Their ribeyes are easily a meal for two people, yetare competively priced with the much smaller, thinner ones you see in chain grocery stores. I just bought a flank steak and hadto put it in a 13 x 9 baking dish to marinate it! The service is top notch - they get to know you, and take the time to visitand catch up - it's like being with family. In town visiting family and wanted to find a place for quality meat to enjoy a nice cookout for the holiday weekend. This is the... place to shop for quality food in Peoria. I must say I love be this place. It feels like I'm walking in and buying from family. The grill outside is like your own... backyard and the people are so friendly. You see the people behind the counter engaging people not just sitting back andwaiting until they are called upon. Well done Alwan and Son meat company. Its like having a butcher in the family. What a cool store! So many neat things to choose from and the meat choices are off the charts! Can't wait to try the hearty... looking steak and chicken kabobs grilled this evening!
