Service was excellent. Our waiter was awesome. This was our first attempt at Illinois mexican food. We knew it wouldn't be like... California. Beans were fine...veggie fajitas weren't grilled well and were pretty greasy. My daughter's fish tacos weren't awhitefish..but seemed more like catfish cubes in cornmeal. My other child got a California burrito that was really just achicken burrito. We got a veggie burrito to go and they didn't understand what that was. We didn't realize that was an unusualorder since they had a veggie section (but no burrito in it). So we are still on the hunt for our place! Read more

Me and my girlfriend ate here last night and met Rudy, the owner. He is not only a great guy but an amazing cook. He brought me... out a taco to try and then after that brought a pastor sandwich to take home, just to try. What a great dinning experience andthe food was so good, I left feeling stuffed. Read more

There were three of us and we all loved our entrees. Good chips, and salsa and guacamole were delicious. I'm very particular... about my margaritas and Rudy's are the best I've had in Peoria. Our server was Rudy's daughter and so friendly and attentive! We'll definitely be back. Read more

Small little spot with big taste and great service! Typical Mexican fare that tasted great, big portions, but the service was... over and above! Speedy and our waitress checked on us several times. Highly recommend Rudy?s Mexican Catina & Grill Read more

Craving something different than our norm, we decided on trying Rudy's today. We went close to 2:00 PM and the restaurant was... almost empty. Located in a strip mall, parking was ample and easy to find, the entrance was inviting. The interior decor wasnot overly lavish like you normally would find at restaurants, which was nice for a change. Our waitress was great, not onceasked how our food was or if we needed anything while we had a mouthful. Her timing was impeccable and she genuinely cared aboutour experience. Chips and salsa was provided when we were sat down. Sals was good, would be better with a little heat. Chipsweren't the freshest but were OK. We started with beef and chicken nachos supreme. Not disappointing at all. A hefty serving ofshredded chicken on one side, and beef on the other made for a delicious appetizer. We ordered Carnitas and Beef fajitas.Carnitas seemed to be a little overcooked, but all in all not a bad entree. Fajitas on the other had were a littledisappointing. Not served on the traditional sizzling platter, but a cold dinner plate. Very little sour cream and guacamole andeven less pico de gallo accompanied by a large portion of shredded lettuce next to very little grilled onions and peppers. Thesliced beef was dismal and lacking in flavor. 5 stars for our waitress who was on top of things, 5 stars for service, but foodwas 3 at best. Hence my 4 star review. Pricing was reflective of the food we received. Nothing in my opinion to go out of theway for. Read more
