Once again Hy-vee has impressed me. The veterans day breakfast was awesome. If you are a veteran or active duty military go... to Hy-vee today ! A warm welcome from hy-vee employees and volunteers. The Manual high school JROTC members were theregreeting at the front door and serving the food in the awesome buffet. They had everything from eggs, fruit, rolls andpastries. Very delicious. This is an excellent place to shop if you don't buy produce, bread, anything fragile, cold or toxic. I bring an insulated bag... with me for cold items, but it's rare any ever make it in there(which is unfortunate because this is a terribly simple concept). It's also common to find heavy items like soup cans stacked on top of bread and bananas etc. When I buy chemicals they aren'tever wrapped in their own bag, which was standard practice when I worked as a courtesy clerk. I drive out of my way to come tothis store, but I may begin going somewhere else because this has been a WEEKLY occurrence for some time. It's a shame becausethe rest of the store is awesome in every aspect. Quick summary: excellent alcohol selection (specifically beers), good delivariety, the best produce, organic/nutritional food section, pet isle, imported foods, it's always clean inside, massive parkinglot, the department staff is always nice, and they also carry some local brands. Usually a pretty decent location, to shop. It's your standard grocery shopping experience. I'm giving a two star rating as about... 20 minutes ago I watched a Hy-Vee employee rear end a parked car, as they were trying to park. They turned into the parking spottoo wide, and hit near the gas cap of the other car. Afterwards, the employee backed up and parked in the spot they were tryingto get to. They sat there for a bit before driving off, and trying to park their car futher away to try and hide. After that, Iwatched the same employee as they walked into the store. This happened around 5: 10 pm on Oct. 6th, 2022. I spoke to who seemedlike a shift manager. They took the information down and said they'd have to call the store manager. They were nice about it.Leaving this as a review in hopes this is seen, and not swept under the rug. Read more
