Reviews for Sushi Doraku in Peoria, AZ
I was super worried when I didn't have to duck my head under an Izakaya lantern anymore, but let me tell you, the food remains... traditional. When reading reviews you will hear phrases like: "best sushi in town" all too often, but let me tell you: this isthe most authentic and delicious sushi in all of Northwestern Peoria. That I can guarantee. I'm thinking city or state level aswell... but I can only promise so much as one person (with multiple experiences.) I can order roll after roll without breakingthe bank during lunch specials or happy hour, which is exactly what I'm looking for when I want to fill my table with sushi <3.I can even bring my mom (who says she doesn't like sushi) and I can get her to try a taste of the best all night. Sushi was good! Service was not. Ordered 3 rolls and when I got home, I noticed only two. We called and ask if we forgot a roll... or maybe there was a mistake and the BOY at the counter spoke to us in a condescending way, making it seem like we were tryingto scam them. Turns out they put two rolls into one. How were we supposed to know that? Nothing was labeled and the rolls lookedexactly the same. So maybe the little boy at the front counter should learn some manners and customer service. Read more
The waitrix was a little distracted at first - but once I asked her how to perform the saki-bomber process - she brightened up... and treated us great! Food was pretty, and tasty! Read more
This is a great spot, sushi is on point, Korean chicken is tasty (shown in the photo) and my favorite the Hamachi Kama (show in... photo, its grilled yellowtail collar) with the smokey ponzu sauce... thats an A++ appetizer. Order an extra side of rice andunagi sauce and try it with that as well! Highly recommend this spot! Read more
I'll give this place 3 stars. I came before and I felt like it was better the first time. The first time when we ordered the... dragon roll they had a dragon on it and all 3 rolls we got were amazing. This time we got 4 rolls and 1 was good. Maybe an offday? Read owners response to all the one & two stars reviews. SO unprofessional and RUDE. All five of us were shocked how horrid the... tempura crab & shrimp sushi was! Over fried, nasty old grease with ZERO crab..just fried, burnt shell. All other rolls were poorquality sushi! This restaurant was much better a few years ago. Defensive owner! I live close to here and it?s hands down my go-to sushi joint. The food is amazing, I?ve never had anything I didn?t like! The... bento boxes during lunch special are my favorite. The staff are always extremely inviting and caring. Read more
