Pretty much a disappointment. Staff were nice and helpful but food was a cut above Taco Bell. Complementary chips and salsa were... terrible. Chips were extremely thin and the salsa was spaghetti sauce. Wife and I both ordered the steak taco salad and it cameout quicker then we ordered it. Not sure why it was assembled backwards. Lettuce should be on the bottom then meat sauce andthen the toppings. Strips of meat were overcooked and too large to eat easily, if the protein was on top I would have know thatI need to cut it instead of jabbing around like I was jigging flounder. Good fast and friendly service. The fajitas were good and very filling. The margarita was excellent. The chile relleno was a... little strange. I think they had spinach and mozzarella inside the poblano. It was odd. Anyway, everything else was good and thebar area looked very appealing. Next time we will probably sit at the bar and have a couple margaritas before splitting fajitasor maybe the molcajete, because it looks like it would be fantastic. Update: We went back and got the molcajete and sat at thebar and had margaritas. Everything was excellent! Read more
We came into town while visiting family and looking for a place to grab a bite. We were looking for something different and... ended up at BigOtes. Let me just get this negative part out of you he way first, their water is terrible tasting, too muchchlorine. I order a soda for something to drink. This was my second time here. I must say this was way better this time around. I ordered the Pollo Loco and it was absolutely... delicious. We honestly only went here because our other choice was way too packed. I am now happy we did. The cheese dip wassuper good and I also had the perfect patron margarita. Service was also good. Just had a great dinner here tonight. My only disappointment was that I haven?t been to this place sooner! Service was fast and... friendly. The food came out quickly and everything tasted fresh and delicious. I had the chicken street tacos, and I loved howauthentic they tasted. My husband had the molcajete, and from what I tasted, it was equally delicious. Portion sizes weregenerous. I really enjoyed that this place has their own flavor profile and didn?t taste like every other Mexican restaurant inthe area. We will definitely be returning! Read more
Nice Mexican restaurant with nice ambiance. We were greeted at the door and seated promptly. The salsa and chips were sooooo... good. I was almost full off the salsa before my food arrived. I ordered the carnitas street tacos and they were pretty good. Hadgood flavor. Also included avocados, Pico de Gallo and rice and beans. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch and others at the tabledid as well. It's tough to find authentic Mexican fare in Pensacola, Im still searching-but these were pretty close. Read more
