I was served alcohol when I ordered the virgin version of a drink and when it was brought to me, she announced the alcoholic... name of the drink, I asked to confirm it was in fact virgin, and they appeared to not know and said yes anyway. I starteddrinking it and wasn't able to tell because it was a spiced apple cider. By the end of my drink and extremely over priced meal,I went to pay and low and behold they were charging me for the alcoholic version of my drink. I brought up the interaction uponreceiving it and told them I cannot have alcohol and they were quick to say that it wasn't and the charge was a mistake. Sure. Iwas sick for hours afterwards. Probably will never go back. Read more
I attended the Hocus Pocus brunch earlier today with a party of 7. Since we had reservations, we were sat immediately. The cafe... itself was decorated very nicely and you could tell a lot of effort was put in to the decor and overall theme. We ordered thebiscuit appetizer and it was tasty. I also had one of the iced vanilla lattes and I thought it was quite good. I ordered thegarden hash as my main and it was simple but very good. However, not everyone in our party received their food at the same time. Our waitress was sweet, but she did seem pretty overwhelmed. Some people in my party had some issues with their food/service,but personally I had no complaints. After we paid, we noticed that we must have been charged a gratuity. We only wished thatthis would have been communicated to us prior. Overall, I would definitely be willing to come back and try Adonnna?s again! Read more
This morning, we had a party of 7 for the Hocus Pocus brunch. The building was beautifully decorated for the occasion. However,... the service is one of the reasons for 3 stars. The waitress was nice but I?m not sure she had enough experience to deal with anevent like this. She came back to the table several times but would bolt away quickly before you could ask for anything.Everyone?s drink sat empty and she didn?t offer to refill. I only got a refill after eating because I asked for it. Also, I knowit?s usually customary to charge gratuity for a larger party. HOWEVER, common courtesy would be to tell the party gratuity willbe added. And I don?t know if that is something they added because it was a special event or just because of our party size. Inmy opinion it was like they weren?t concerned about the bad service because they ultimately knew gratuity was going to be added. To add even more suspicion, the receipt they give you is not itemized so no way to tell they?re either.
