I ordered soup beans, fried potatoes and "cornbread". My husband ordered the chicken wrap with tater tots. Both of us had ice... tea. The tea was good. The waitress was very nice. My husband said his chicken wrap was "okay". Soup beans were okay but tastedmore watery than flavorful. The "fried" potatoes were not sliced but instead were small cubes that were over fried and dry. Themost disappointing part of the meal... other than it being way over priced... was the "cornbread". Apparently there are 2 kindsof cornbread... both called cornbread. The one I was given was made by Charly. When it arrived at the table it didn't look quiteright to me. It looked kind of like a biscuit. I broke it in half and the inside looked a bit more like cornbread than did theoutside. Tasting it I knew something is different for sure. Tasted like perhaps it was made with flour. Come to find out thecornbread they gave me was Charly's and not the kind that was part of the day's special. Yep, there was alot of flour added intothe cornbread. The waitress asked if there was any of the other cornbread left. Unfortunately, there was none left... to bad forme, perhaps it could have saved the mediocre soup beans. Read more
We stopped at Charley's for lunch. My husband had a mushroom burger with fries and I had the chicken melt sandwich w/onion... rings. My husband said that his burger was delicious and my Chicken melt was Awesome! The people working were all very friendly!Great place to people watch too! Going back very soon! The ladies working at Charley?s were very nice and made our order perfect. My mom ordered the mushroom swiss burger and fries.... She said it was very good. I had soup beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, and fried pickles. Everything I ordered was delicious.The decor is both classic and cheerful. I loved the old photos of town. Great little restaurant in the middle of town. All the food was excellent. My steak was a little overcooked, but the flavor made... up for it. My daughter is picky and she loved the chicken tenders and fries. Chelcie, our waitress, was very sweet andhelpful. Stop by and have a meal here if you're in the area. Read more
