We stopped here twice during out time in this area. The first time was for lunch at their cafe. The food was reasonably-priced... and exactly what we wanted for a light lunch. The reason it is not 5 stars is that I was expecting more of the things to be homemade. The soup, while really good, was not. The chicken we had on our salads was obviously pre-cubed from a supplier. The foodwas good and perfect for a light lunch. It was definitely a well-priced option and we would stop here again if that is what wewere looking for at the time. The second visit we shopped in the store and bought a few baked goods, which were verygood. This is worth the stop if you are in the area and looking for a light lunch, some baked goods, or some essentials. Read more
This place is immaculate! The staff is happy relaxed and helpful. Had breakfast at their Cafe, the food is outstandingly... delicious and very reasonably priced. The merchandising and the displays in the grocery store are attractive, fresh and wellstocked. Oh... we bought a bunch of thier fry pies... you must must get some! ???????????????????????? Read more
This place is absolutely wonderful. So many things to try & buy. Snacks,meats, cheeses , spices, jams,jellies, breads . Their... cafe has a variety of foods to try. My husband & I go there frequently throughout the spring ,summer,& fall season . Love to getsomething to eat along with drinks ( I like my lattes) & just sit relax & hang out . I will tell you that their quiche & thecheese steak sandwich are very good . They also have so many other things to check out . Many times we will just make the 1 1/2to 2 hour drive just to stop there . The scenery driving out is beautiful. We would recommend this as a must stop place if youare out that way. We passed by this place several times during our 3 day stay in Penn Yan, and today on our way home, we stopped by to check it... out. We weren't disappointed. Lots of local cheese, fresh cut steaks at a decent price, we even found a bird feeder that welike, and the baked goods are great. Cafe has great food and coffee. You can say we left this store happy. Excellent homey feeling as you meander around the shop gathering your brown eggs, tub of iced cream, packaged snacks and cheeses... as well as your Cole slaw and a potato salad. Sample a little of lots along the way and enjoy the experience. Read more
My Husband and I love this place, we go for our Elderberry syrup. Plus their Pasta Salad is amazing. The prices are great and... very friendly staff. They have a little Cafe, plus they sell in bulk, on everything you can think of. Lots of Meats to choosefrom, from the deli meats, to chicken, beef, hot dogs and more. Amazing facility, with an amazing amount of products inside! Meats, cheeses, pastry/bakery, produce, homemade peanut butter and... jellies, frozen goods, meat, meat sticks, bulk foods and spices- the list goes on and on. Fry pies are to die for! Look closelyat these fruit filled pastries- some have cream cheese and some don't. Be sure to eat at the cafe- prices are an amazinglygreat value and the quantity and quality of the food are unbelievable. Breakfast, salads, subs, panini sandwiches, with sidesof vegetable chips, chips, Cole slaw, etc. Homemade soups and salads are available as well as kid friendly meals. Coffee madeto order and plenty of other drinks available- my favorite being the blueberry lemonade! Saturday has a chicken/rib BBQ onsite, so plan on spending a couple of hours here. Read more
Oak Hill Bulk Foods have the best cookies, especially chocolate chip, fresh homemade salads, especially the coleslaw, potato... salad with bacon and cheese, pasta salad, there pies are delicious. There prices are reasonably priced. They have bulk spices,so you don't have to pay a fortune. They have excellent homemade subs, amongst other variety on there menu. I highly recommendOak Hill. Everytime I come down from Rochester that's an automatic stop for me! They're staff is very friendly and alwayswilling to help. If you have questions, they have the answers.
