Hostess very friendly and helpful. Was told the wait was so long because they were changing the grease in the fryer. Would think... that would be done when the establishment is closed, but ok. After waiting 45 minutes, with 2 other take out customers, the onlyhot dish was the almost done chicken. Knew the food wasnt hot when I was handed the bag. The mac & cheese was more cheese thanmac, ok pork ribs, bland yellow cake. The best dish was the the greens. Was offered a canned pepsi, for the long wait. I just had the best chicken and waffles I think ever here at Vickey's soul grill! You get 2 big waffles with 6 whole chicken... wings honestly enough for two people! The chicken was cooked to perfection! If your in the penn hills area it's a must! You caneat inside too. Not just take out! Read more

I've had so many good dishes here. Chicken, ribs, fish, pork chops, oxtails and turkey ribs. Her warm spirit and delicious foods... and homemade desserts makes me leep coming back over the years. This is real down south cooking. I have not been disappointedwith my meals. I am a foodie and a fan of VSG following her location after first eating her food at Monroeville. My son really liked it. I'm still on the fence but will go back to try something else the smothered pork chops were too salty... for me to eat and the yams were a little too sweet. Chicken,cabbage, rice and peas were good. I just think that it needs alittle tweaking to be off the chain. Read more
