Frankstown Wood Fire Pizza is absolutely terrific! Our favorites include the margherita pizza, the piping hot fresh baked break... and the macaroni salad (just like Nana used to make)! However, there's lots of choices -- from hoagies, sauces, homemade salads,baked street breads aaaaaand .... Italian Ices! Everything is very reasonably priced and reliably prepared; hot and ready forpick up in short order. The owners, and everyone that works at Frankstown Pizza, are simply great. This is very high quality homemade pizza. I got the margherita pizza and also tried two slices of the marinara pizza. The... marinara is quite a basic pizza, simple yet tasty. It is made of simply cheese and tomato sauce. My margherita pizza wasawesome! It is around 12" which is enough for 1-2 people. It's similar to a Neapolitan style pie, but a little bit thicker. Thedough is pretty soft, not too crispy, but also had a nice char on the bottom. You can see the man making the pizza in the tinyrestaurant, so you know it's made by hand! Margherita also had basil, nice chunks of mozzarella, tomato chunks (whole tomatoes!)and some sort of spice which was pretty unique. And the price was only $11. I did try to order their raisin bread along with mypie, but they were out of it. However, I would try it the next time I visit. The downside is that they don't deliver and it'scash only.
