My parents live nearby and have been coming here for years. Collectively we?ve probably spent tens of thousands of dollars here,... because we enjoy the food so much. However something is up with the hostesses at the front. You have the option to sit inside,outside at communal fire pit, or outside at a private table. The wait times for each of these are different, however they do notaccurately quote you nor do they respect your choice. I waited 40 minutes (as quoted) for a private table, just to be walked tothe communal fire pit. When I asked if I could instead sit at the private table I had requested, they told me that would only bepossible if I waited until 9:30 PM.. this was at like 6 pm??? It really does not make you feel valued as a customer. Iunderstand that wait times vary and maybe people are taking a while looking at the view but this has happened repeatedly.Baiting and switching me to shut me up is not the vibe! I had to sit at a fire pit for multiple courses while some couple issitting there just having a coffee and dessert at the table? does not make sense While I adore the food and the view, it leavesme feeling frustrated when I come here! Great food and great service. My family of 8 came for lunch and were seated almost immediately. The servers were extremely... forthcoming and helpful with menu items. The Bench is a great place to stop by if you're in Pebble Beach. It's in a beautiful location. They have a beautiful bar and... covered patio. It's especially nice in the evenings around sunset. If you're looking for a romantic dinner spot, this place isgreat. Calling in advance is recommended, I wouldn't try walking in without a reservation. The food is great quality. Everythingis cooked well and beautifully presented. It isn't the best meal of your life but everything tastes very good. Very nice, once-in-a-lifetime experience eating here. The views are some of the best on the 17 mile drive. And, oh yes, it's... PEBBLE BEACH. You don't have to be golfing to eat there. Yes, it's expensive $$$$, Saw I could afford the crab salid for lunch.Not a lot of crab in it. But the atmosphere made it worth the high prices. Read more
As golfers, my husband and I were really looking forward to visiting to Pebble Beach and chose the Bench as our lunch spot. We... made our decision based on the restaurants location overlooking the 18 hole of Pebble Beach. The restaurant itself has agorgeous vibe, inside is bright and airy with a huge bar and outside is a cool patio with lounge chairs all centered around firepits. The staff was so chill, not what we were expecting, but pleasantly surprised. Give them your entrance fee receipt and theywill refund you the $10. It is super busy, even for lunch, so make the reservations. The food was impressive and very tasty!Recommend the personal pizza. The highlight of this restaurant is that you can walk on the cart path along the 18 hole afteryou eat (or before it doesn?t matter). This was a dream come true as a golfer. What can I say, it's Pebble Beach!!! I was surprised at how lowkey the vibe is around the grounds. You feel very welcome.The... staff at the Bench had options to eat inside without reservations. Beautiful location with surprisingly amazing food at fair prices (which is pretty rare in SF). Don't sleep on the lava cake and... I highly recommend their fish burger. You can just walk in without playing golf, no worries! Read more
