My 1st time here and I ordered to go. Got the smothered chopped steak and O.M.G!! It's on top of rice, with gravy and I... ordered green beans (taste like Grandma's!), Mac and cheese (creamy and cheesy), and a side of the greens (very good taste!). Sweet cornbread!! I didn't need to add anything to this meal!! Customer service was great and timely! They were playing theold school jams, nice vibe!! I will be returning!!! Read more

This place is proof that looks can be deceiving!!!!! I won?t be back the food is nasty and definitely not soul food. Every thing... with cheese in it taste like cheese whiz ???? I ordered the oxtail plate, baked chicken plate and the fried fish and shrimp anda side of seafood pasta. Disgusting is an understatement, the rice is par boiled, chicken lacked flavor the gravy is out of apackage it?s thick and flavorless. The oxtails lack seasoning and flavor, the oxtail gravy is straight out of a package or flourand water. This place is a disgrace to soul food. Don?t wast you money they are pricey and nasty. Mac and cheese is watery thegreens are undercooked and under seasoned. For the price of the plate I didn?t even get a roll or cornbread! 1 out of 10 Do NOTRecommend! Read more

We will be back!! Glows: Friendly staff (they greet you coming in and going out) they seem happy to be at work. Budget friendly... daily specials cafeteria style as well as cooked to order options. The food was hot and fresh. Our favorite was the black-eyedpeas, cabbage, mashed potatoes, cornbread ,greens and lamb chops. The ambiance is great. They did wonderful job on decorations.Parking is easy and plentiful. Grows: The green beans were not good, i didn't taste the down home flavors like in the blackeyed peas. They seem to have been cooking a while, the smoked turkey egg rolls were not that good, but they did mention theywere out and wanted to put together some for me. Overall this place is a hit. The Glows definitely outweigh the Grows!!Definitely going back. Read more

Had a great experience. Service, atmosphere, cleanliness all good. Order was oxtail with cabbage and yams and catfish with man n... cheese and corn. The oxtail are not cooked the Caribbean way, they're southern cooked. It was out first time with those andthey were amazing. Yams and Mac n cheese were great. Cabbage is sweet but taste good as well. The corn was out last favorite.Nothing special. I meant to take a photo but it was that good. Anyway these cookies that we ate later were amazing. I'd go justfor the cookies. Definitely saving. Ordered the smothered pork chop plate. The portions were more than enough. I would definitely suggest going early, there was... over a 40 minute wait if you wanted anything cooked to order like the fried chicken which I ended up not ordering due to that.Otherwise if they had more staff to make the plates the line would have gone quicker. I have 4 out of 5 just because of the timewe had to wait just to get inside to even get food. Will go again and try the brunch next time since I know what to expect. Read more
