We stayed four night in mid-October, after the Inn's restaurant was closed and the Island was quiet, shifting into off-season... mode. As we have before, we stayed on the side looking out on Casco Bay, an absolutely wonderful, and peaceful view. By areservations quirk, a question of what was available when, we shifted rooms after two nights. David, the Inn's thoughtful andcaring host, arranged to have our bags moved and made sure all was well. One small, but welcome touch, was coupons from the Innfor breakfast at the Peak's Cafe, a place we love. I could go on, but, really, all was well. We had a great time. Read more
Our stay at the Inn was wonderful! We parked our car in downtown Portland and took the ferry across to the island (taking a car... on the ferry can be a bit pricy and the car ferry doesn't run all evening). I would recommend parking your car in the lot downthe street from the ferry terminal as the parking garage attached to it is expensive. We took the ferry in the evening and itwas so romantic as the moon light paved the way to the inn. When you get off the ferry you can just walk to the inn. It is superclose. Check in was very easy and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful! The room had everything we needed and it wasso cozy! The beds were super comfortable and the fireplace in our room was lovely. It was quiet and very relaxing there. I wouldhighly recommend staying at the inn!! A great place for a little getaway! My partner and I had our wedding here in October 2022, and everything was BEYOND perfect. Jayson and his team were extremely... accommodating and helped us plan the perfect wedding throughout the whole process. The vendor list and other pieces of advicethroughout from Jayson and the team helped us navigate the planning process and make everything amazing. The Inn and the areaare both extremely beautiful, and all of our guests (both near and far) had a great time and a Maine experience. I would highlyrecommend this location to anyone looking to plan a wedding or just a nice stay off the coast of Portland. We also rented a roomfor the night at the Inn, and the room was very comfortable. We were well taken care of, even being offered an early check-in tohelp us get settled before our ceremony. The restaurant was closed early for the year, which was not a big deal to us, but theywent the extra mile and offered us complimentary breakfasts at a local restaurant. We stayed at the Inn and had a wonderful time. I love the way the room was decorated and the balcony overlooking Portland harbor... was the perfect spot to people watch, relax, read a book, and watch the sunset. Breakfast was included, tasty, and the waitstaff were all helpful. The housekeeping staff were also wonderful. The location was conveniently close to the beaches and nicerestaurants. The in. Is lovely. It is convenient to the ferry and well situated near the busy part of the island. The rooms are very nice and... comfortable, albeit spare self furnished. Some have balconies overlooking the bay. And that leads to my one big complaint. Itwould have been really nice to sit n the balcony and watch the goings on, read a book, and the sunset. But the balconies havehardly any furniture! Mine had 2 simple chairs ? not even a little table to put a drink/snacks on. And an ottoman to kick up myfeet would have been even better. It?s really should be one of the features of the room and it was a bit of a disappointment. Abreakfast credit came with the room which was a nice surprise. No one mentioned it to me at check in. The hotel is wonderful with large rooms, nicely appointed with all the amenities?we stayed in the Chabegue room which had a... spectacular view of Portland Harbor, an outdoor balcony and cathedral ceiling living room area with fireplace and refrigeratortoo! The service staff is top-notch, accommodating and friendly. The food at the restaurant is excellent with sizableportions?we ate breakfast there every day. We highly recommend this hotel, accommodations, service staff and restaurant. It?sso convenient if you also bring down your vehicle on the ferry and park right outside the Inn. Stopped by to grab a late lunch/early dinner with my family because we were starving. We were sat almost immediately and the... service was excellent. All of the interactions I had with the staff were lovely. I had the haddock sandwich and hummus appetizer(pictured below) and both were delicious. It was fun to take the car on ferry to the island. Our room was very spacious & overlooked the water. The bathroom was huge,... beds comfortable, very good value. We walked to the Cockeyed Gull Restaurant which was excellent & had breakfast at Scratchwhich was also very good. We would definitely stay there again! Read more
