They are short staffed. Long wait of people trying to pay their bill. Finally seated and the manager took our order. Food was... cold and not exactly what we ordered. My husband's meal had a hair in it that wasn't his. The waitress for our area ignored usthe entire time we were there. We finally had to stop her and ask for a box and our check. An older gentleman was put on thecash register and the poor thing didn't know how to run it, he was getting flustered. We overheard the waitress telling anothercustomer they had just let go a bunch of emoyees and she might be next. Read more

Updated: so grateful for the management explaining the shortfall in staff. It's a tough environment...so many people unwilling... to work or not skilled or committed to work consistently. In any event, Payson Dennys is hurting for staff. Previous review:edited Completely understaffed. Led to poor customer service. Polite lady running the front, but she was overwhelmed...Even thebuffet area was off limits to new guests unless you waited. We headed to the Beeline Cafe and were seated immediately. Greatatmosphere there, but smaller place. Read more

Yes, I just gave this Dennys 5 stars. Five reasons: 1) I don?t have anything to complain about! Haha! Do you know how NICE... is. I?m driving, through Payson, AZ, on my way to visit family back East. I Love Payson. Beautiful country, Love the smalltown quality of life. Stopped in at Dennys because the cool morning mountain air gave me a taste for Pancakes. 2) The customerservice was great! They only had two servers on staff and this place can easily keep the whole dining room full. But there wasno abnormal wait time for seating or for the food. My server made his rounds like pro touching every table with a ?how yadoing, How is Everything, Can I get you anything?? He checked on my coffee refill. He got me everything in proper, timely andvery courteous way! I FREAKING LOVE THAT!! Customer Service is the easiest thing to provide, the most appealing asset of anybusiness and yet the hardest thing to find. My server saw his job as his business. This is the correct perspective. Hetreated everyone the same. And everyone was happy. It created a very comforting environment. 3) The food was good. The cookis a good cook. I had an omelette that was very well made. Fluffy. Not Burt. Good flavors. You can?t ask for much in theway of quality ingredients when it comes to Dennys, this I know, but you go back hoping for the restaurant to show up in othersways. Service is one. The other is how the food is prepared. A cook who can take average quality ingredients and make itworth the price they charge is really a Generous Soul and a Genius no doubt. We know they are not paid much to take on the workload of turning 40 or 50 full orders in an hour, but to do it anyway and with such care, deserves some recognition. Iappreciate you Sir. 4) It was CLEAN. Ok, I know I said I love Customer Service the Most, But no matter how supposed thecustomer service may be to your face, if it ain?t clean, it?s just lip service and they don?t care about you, the Read more

We came in around 2:30/3am Sunday 9/25 after almost 24 hours of being up. We were asked to seat ourselves when we arrived. The... waitress seemed annoyed that we were there. The few times we asked for things she was annoyed. We never had our drinks refilledand she never came back to our table except to drop the bill. She was too worried about hanging out with her friends on theother side of the restaurant instead of ensuring her customers were taken care of. My husband was getting up to use therestroom, which had no soap and she didn't seem to care about, so he handed her his card as he got up so we could pay. She cameback and dropped off the card without any type of receipt for tipping and never even asked about a tip. She then went andgathered her things and left outside with her friends who had been hanging out inside. We weren't sure what to do about the tipand couldn't find any other worker so we put a cash tip on the table. Upon checking our account the waitress took a 25% tipwithout authorization from the card holder!!!! Terrible service, terrible employees, and FRAUDULENT payment services. DO NOT GOHERE!! Read more

The restaurant was extremely short staffed but the employees present were all working very hard to serve the customers as best... they could. Even though they were under a lot of pressure due to being overwhelmed they were very polite, efficient, and ourfood was very good. I hope they get recognized for their outstanding commitment to the restaurant and the customers they served. My wife and I were starving and thankful they served us. We were stuck in a traffic jam shortly after we left but sitting andwaiting was much more pleasant on a full stomach and not being thirsty. Read more
