Reviews for Applewood House of Pancakes in Pawleys Island, SC
Really enjoyed our meals. I had a crab cake BLT on Sourdough bread, and the bacon was cooked just right, nice thick cut crispy... but not overcooked...and you cannot go wrong with the homefries, baby reds! Yummy! My son had a Huge fresh Belgian Waffle withwhipped butter, sausage and scrambled eggs. The service was excellent, restaurant is very clean, and the prices are great (inwhich all 3 can be hard to find since the pandemic). We will be back and recommend it to Friends and family. Read more
Good breakfast fare in a friendly casual environment. Similar to a usual breakfast diner. Thr food is good and the price is... right. I do think they could use a few more wait staff as the servers always seem frazzled running around from table to table. Read more
We are from out of town and if we lived closer this would be our go to breakfast restaurant... We were Greeted with a smile,... Seated promptly with menus, waitress came within minutes to get our drink order and told us about the breakfast bar they had forthat day (Saturday). Menu had a lot of choices to choose from but we opted for the breakfast bar and was not disappointed.Waitress came back several times to check on us and also told us if we wanted our eggs cooked differently that she could havethem ordered and bring them to us. Will definitely be back. I was really impressed with the service, atmosphere and cleanlinessof the restaurant and also the waitress came back several times even though we were eating off the bar. Its not like most placesyou go to eat off the bar and they forget you're there and let you just fend for yourself....... Read more
We are staying in Murrells Inlet but this place is just down the street, so we decided to check it out for breakfast. Sandy... (sp?) was our waitress and was extremely kind. I got the hash stack, which wasn?t made with hash browns and I was absolutelythrilled for that! It was so good! It was made with more of country styled potatoes. I also was very intrigued by the placematsadvertising the bee-caps. So I bought a bottle and I?m gonna give it a go! Read more

Had the traditional breakfast. It wasn't much extraordinary. The bacon left a lot to be desired and the potatoes seemed like... they were cooked three hours before. The sourdough was delish. Service was great. Read more

I'm usually pretty forgiving with local restaurants, but I wish I could give 0 stars. I was lured in by the good reviews and... appetizing pictures but the food we received looked anything but appetizing. The food tasted okay, but is definitely notsomething I would ever recommend or get again. We ordered the hash stack and the crab cake Benedict. I also got grapefruit juicethat was a very gross brown color and very bitter (I know grapefruit juice is sour but this was bitter). The hash stack lookedvery good on the picture in the menu and was supposed to include hash browns, scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy, bacon, and cheese. The one we received had no hash browns but rather had large chunks of potato that I think were supposed to resemble home friesbut were nothing like any home fries I've ever had. The hash stack also had no sausage, one large chunk of egg that was notscrambled, and tiny bacon bits like the kind you buy in grocery stores to top salads. Very misleading advertising and when weasked our waitress about it she just said "that's how they always make it." The crab cake Benedict was unimpressive at best andkind of gross at worst. I really REALLY like crab cakes and eggs benedict is consistently my favorite breakfast item, so I wasexcited. Unfortunately, I was seriously let down. The crab cake was mushy and fishy and the egg was over poached. There wasbarely any runny yolk in the egg. Our orders were supposed to come with sides of cinnamon swirl toast and fresh fruit with anEnglish muffin, respectively. At first, our waitress forgot to bring them (which is completely fine, she said she was new and weweren't upset about that at all), so I had to go find her and tell her about our seemingly incorrect order and missing sides, towhich she was not very kind or accommodating and following this she was short with us. She did eventually bring our side dishesout, but the cinnamon swirl toast looked nothing like the photos on the menu and was actually your st Read more
