Mercantile in Pawhuska Oklahoma:\nThis place belongs to one of my wife\'s cooking heros, Ree Drummond, also known as the Pioneer... woman. The store portion is packed full of things designed for those that enjoy cooking. If you don\'t (like me) you willfind little joy in wondering around here.\nBut all is not lost! There is an amazing bakery upstairs full of things to makeyour blood sugar go off the charts!\nAlong with that back on the bottom floor is a restaurant that we are in and the food wasfantastic and reasonably priced. A real treat! We got the chicken pot pie(which is made with their biscuit dough) and it was rich and creamy, so delicious. Also... got the pork belly which was amazing, could really taste the Dr Pepper and Chipotle. Now....the garlic parmesan fries....thoseneed a warning on the menu! It was about 3lbs of french fries absolutely covered in garlic and cheese. It was enough to feed 6people as an app. Highly recommend the fires! Read more
Food is delicious and staff is very friendly. I felt like many items in the mercantile were over priced but I guess it\'s to be... expected. I would definitely recommend visiting. Read more
Our first time eating here. We heard about this place from all the locals and thought we would drive up and try it. The wait was... 5 minutes to get a table; we heard the line is usually out the door. We tried the pot pie, country fried steak, chickenparmesan, and beet salad. We also had biscuits (delicious with homemade jam) and side salads. The food was delicious and Amber, our waitress was extremely attentive. There is also a nicely stocked store attached with various shirts, books, kitchenware, etc. The upstair area offers desserts- we were full and passed on that. Read more
The portions are huge. We shared the meatballs and Lad’s Chicken sandwich. Both were yummy! I loved the little sprouts... sprinkled on the meatballs a very nice touch. The pickles with the sandwich were crunchy sweet. Loved the hand cut fries theywere the size of steak fries. There was a 45 minute wait for the table for lunch. Read more
I enjoyed shopping & lunch. Be prepared to wait to be seated at the restaurant. It was an hour and a half wait & we arrived at... 11. I got the chicken sandwich, pretty good. My husband got the Dr Pepper Pork Belly & Grits *$17.)... man was that great!I\'ll probably order that next time around. I don\'t even like grits. Upstairs I got the Cowboy Coffee drink $3.50, it had akick...a little spicy going down the throat, but I liked it. I thought all the store items were very overpriced, but thattourist shopping for you. Read more
June 6, 2017: The Mercantile was new and I was taking a trip from NC to visit here and also Waco, TX. First stop, here. It... was crowded but not excessive. Lots of shopping for things that were all made in China. Since I\'m writing this review again(the first disappeared), I can now say that the green glasses I purchased all lost their green color and turned clear after acouple of washings in the dishwasher (there was no warning not to). Other items I purchased, and there were many, favoredbetter. I had coffee and a dessert upstairs and sat comfortably on a couch. I really enjoyed myself but I wish there had beenmore local goods (local artists, local products) sold here rather than everything from overseas. I could have just shoppedonline for those things.
