Many misses - visited for dinner on 8/7/22 with a reservation at 7pm. We ordered the mussell appetizer, 40 minutes later staff... member (not our server) came to tell us they were out of mussels. Then our meal took 1.5 hours from when we placed our order.Server was apologetic stating the kitchen was backed up due to a new outdoor dining area and being 1 cook down. She kept comingback to our table; however seemed to be making different excuses for our meal taking so long. It became evident that she wastrying to save her tip. Nearly 1 hour later she mentioned the kitchen had lost our ticket. Took another 30 minutes before ourmeal came out, we ate at 8:30pm. We enjoyed our meal when it finally arrived, but the misses were disappointing. Our servermentioned she was trying to get us a round of drinks on the house but kept being ignored by the manager/owner. Why even mentionit? Overall, disappointing dining experience. Hoof?s is a great choice for upscale but local Westerly dining. Although not presented as an Italian restaurant, that smash it... out of the park with all the basics. Meatballs are the best! From Boston to New York you will not find a better meatball. Theirpasta in fresh hand made. The chef pairs the perfect Hand tossed pasta unique to each dish. The chicken and veal parm are abalance of crispy and juicy. Not too thick nor too thin. Chicken Marsala and piccata are classic and velvet sauce. They serve aunique red pepper hummus with bread as a welcoming treat. The tables and floors are immaculate and shows great efforts go intopresentation here. The seafood is local and fresh the scallops seared perfectly. I had the watermelon salad and topped with thescallops. Great summer choice. They allow you to add on to any order and don?t leave without trying the meatballs even as a sidedish. The staff is friendly and family works and owns here. We had a reservation so our table was ready when we got there. There were so many delicious items on the menu it was hard to... decide what to get. I decided on the rigatoni with meatballs. The portion was large so I took half of it home. They broughtbread and roasted red pepper hummus to the table after we were seated and we shared a salad to start so we were almost fullbefore the entrees arrived. Even so, we ordered the creme brulee to share. It came with strawberries and whipped cream. Thisis a vibrant town and the restaurant was hopping. The wait staff was very attentive and efficient. First time eating at Hoof?s, absolutely delicious and worth every bite!!! The restaurant is located in downtown Pawcatuck,next... to the railroad bridge. It is within walking distance to downtown Westerly. We had dinner reservations at 6 o?clock, that I madethrough Open Table. We arrived and were seated promptly. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. My friends and I started witha Waldorf salad(special), which we split and delicious cocktails. The Watermelon martini, as so yummy and so refreshing. We eachordered an entrée and then shared the most delicious triple chocolate cake to celebrate two of our birthday?s. The Searedscallop over lobster risotto(special) was cooked perfectly. The Chicken Francese was cooked perfectly as well. The spinach,artichoke and sun dried tomato over the chicken was so good. I cannot wait to go back again for dinner. Read more
This place was amazing in every way, highly recommended if you are in the area. The food was authentic and reminded us of being... in Rome. Our waiter was witty and great at his job, and told us his favorite dishes and we went with a couple of hisrecommendations. Read more
We arrived for our 7pm reservation made on Open Table around 6:50pm and checked in with the host. It was myself, my mom and my... sister. The wait was long but we were understanding of restaurants being understaffed. At about 730pm we watched as two groupsberated the host and we're sat before us even though they had arrived after us (wait being rude is the best way to get seatedand get service?!). We were told our meal would be compensated for the wait directly from the host. We were finally seated at745pm. The espresso martini I ordered and food was incredible! My sister received a completely different chicken dish than sheordered, but she still liked it and finished her plate without even mentioning it to the waiter. Finally, the check comes andthe meal is not compensated at all by the restaurant, but that's not why I came so I just paid the bill and ran out of there asfast as possible!! I don't even care about paying if it means I can leave. If you go here, do not make a reservation from6-730pm. Read more
Loved this Italian restaurant in Westerly/Pawcatuck! We did have reservations and they do recommend making one. The bread and... red pepper hummus served was delicious! The food came out very fast and well prepared!! We enjoyed the calamari which wasperfect and a great flavor including the cherry peppers and artichokes. We loved our housemade pasta dishes! The pasta wasgreat! I really loved my white truffle fettuccine!! It had a delicious taste with the right amount of truffle and pancetta! Theservice was great and the waitress helped recommend a perfect wine for my husband's meal, the pinot noir by Saddlebred. Dessertwas a key lime pie which seemed to have a chocolate or oreo crust which is was interesting but the consistency and texture ofthe key lime pie was great! Great place.....pasta is home made and fantastic.....have never had a bad dish. Celebrated my daughter's birthday there and... the entire team was excellent....good attention to detail for all of our meals. Apps were excellent highly recommend thecalamari.
