I've been here a couple times and enjoyed the experience each time. It's like walking into a saloon more than a traditional... tasting room. Not pretentious and a great place to take beginners. Oh, and the wines are good too. Tasting fee is $20 butwaived with a $20 purchase. Good value based on a quality of wines. Read more

9/18/22 We visited here when we vacationed in the central coast. It hasn't changed since our last visit in May. No masks... required. They do reservation for busy weekends and holidays. Very popular winery. The receptionist up front was very nice. Wedidn't have a reservation but she let us in. Luckily it wasn't busy. The pourer selected samples of what I would like. He wasgreat. The charming and wonderful ladies who rang up the sale were very helpful. Nice surprise was the discount for buying 6bottles. This is our favorite place to visit. There is a grassy doggie area for the furry travelers. We stopped here on the wayto the coast and back. Lots of free parking with handicap access. Tall shady trees with patio seating. Very friendly andextremely helpful hostesses. They fill in the list of the wines you want to sample and or puchase at the entrance. I came hereto purchase specific wines that luckily were available. You take the list to the cashier inside. They get the wines from theback and ring up the sales. They accept credit cards. My last visit here was 10 years ago. The staff are as helpful and friendlyas ever. The interior is the same western decor. Their wines are world renowned. This is our favorite winery in Paso Robles. Wewill return. Read more

"Not yet"...not ever. They literally wrote "not yet" as members on our tasting sheet! ???? My friend and I had a reservation... and were admittedly running behind, but were rudely and abruptly told by the host that they'd see what we could get through andthen we may have to go and not finish. There was zero hospitality from the start. That should have been our first red flag. Theinside of the tasting room is like a tacky saloon, and the wines were lackluster, at best. The guy pouring the wines had nothingto say about them, and not much to say at all. He did ask where we're from...kudos. But then proceeded to tell me I'm pretty tanfor where I'm from. I'm not white. ???? We went to pay for our tastings and leave at what was like a cashier's station. Thewoman told us we must be flying and that's why we weren't buying anything. "Because people who fly normally can't figure out howto get our wines home." I don't know how many ways you can insult your guests. I definitely don't recommend this winery. Hardpass. Read more

The location is convenient and good, but there is no winery vibe. I missed the attention of the staff. If you don't ask... anything, you won't hear anything. It seems to me that more work needs to be done to prepare the customer for the purchase. Today there are a lot of offers, so it is important not just to give a try for money Read more

Tobin James winery is a Gem in Paso Robles. We tried varieties of Reserve and Red wines. All tasted very distinct and loved them... all. A big shout out to Donna, she took great care of us. Vibe of the place makes it extraordinary. Specially loved the bartable decor. Would highly recommend this winery in central coast. Read more

Stopped in spur of the moment and they were friendly and willing to make space for us. Gal who poured for us was knowledgeable... and super pleasant. She did a great job. Large selection of wines and we tasted a variety of whites, reds & dessert wines. Usually do not like dessert wines but tried theirs and these were not too sweet and had great flavor profiles. Was delighted totry a Riesling, which is hard to find these days.We ended up taking home 6 bottles. All reasonably priced as well. Read more
