Amara café has a small indoor sitting and several outdoor sitting. staff are friendly and helpful. But I wouldn't recommend... this as a breakfast place. I ordered in Spanish burrito, a Caffe latte and a pastry. The coffee was four out of five the pastythree out of five the burrito was two out of five. So, I say this is the coffee place and a pastry would be just OK to go withthe coffee but the food is kind of bland and definitely not healthy( too greasy with low quality ingredients). Venezuela/Spanish cafe with arepas, coffees, and churros con chocolate. Came here with a group of five after hiking at Eaton... Canyon on a Sunday around 11:30am. Parked at the schoolhouse garage as it was right next to the cafe and is $1 for the first 2hours. Credit cards accepted. You order/pay at the counter first then pick a table to sit at. Indoor and outdoor diningavailable. A restroom is available inside. There?s a water dispenser by the side of the restroom too. The arepa was deliciousand you can split one between two people for a light lunch. It comes with your choice of coleslaw or salad. They also havesandwiches, and the bread in the panini had a nice texture. While strolling through Old Town Pasadena, I decided to pop into Amara and check out their menu. It?s been a few years since... I?ve been in the restaurant so I forgot about all the Venezuelan food this place has to offer. They have delicious lookingappetizers, plates, arepas and CHURROS! Since I was feeling a bit hungry, I got myself an arepa and a passion fruit juice. Whenmy arepa arrived, I was blown away by the delicious blend of Venezuelan cheese and how flavorful the meat was. I could reallytaste the corn on the arepa shell, and ate the entire thing up. The passion fruit juice was super refreshing and very tasty! I had been wanting to come here for a while and I?m so glad I tried it! They have a kiosk and cash register for ordering food so... it?s a quick process which is great. The people who work her are SO friendly and attentive. The manager or owner pulled myfiancé and I aside to help us order and give us recommendations. He made sure to add some special touches to our drinks so theywere perfect. The Mexican chocolate coffee was stronger than we expected, so we were happy they added some whipped cream tosweeten it up. You can tell they use quality cacao. We tried the Cuban sandwich and steak sandwich and they were wonderful! Soflavorful and well made! We were too full to order the churros and chocolate-so we will definitely go back to try that! Theylook amazing. I also want to come back and try the empanadas. I recommend stopping by for a lovely lunch with some great coffeeand lunch options! They have indoor and outdoor dining. My father is South American and my family are wonderful cooks, so Ireally appreciated finding a place that makes quality Latin food. Read more

Nice little place to get some Venezuelan food. The portions aren't huge but it was all tasty. We will definitely be going back... to try the other food. They lady at the register was nice and gave us good recommendations. All the food coming out of thekitchen looked good. They have indoor dining and a couple of table outside. There is a parking structure right next door to themand if I remember correctly it's $1 for first two hours and $2 each additional hour. Read more
