We went for a hot pot. Please be aware - food choice needs to be the same for both people - either hot pot or BBQ. Overall good... is good - you can order as much as you want, but please, do not waste food. You get a soup base of your choice - Chinese, mushroom, miso etc, and then order raw ingredients to cook. Choices include both meat, seafood and vegetables. You cook your ownsoup, so it is as unique as you are.... Overall staff is attentive but not overwhelmed. The only complaint I have (and I'vedinged then one star on it) is the men's bathroom. We went as soon as the place open (12 pm) and the men's room could use somethorough cleaning. Read more

Excellent quality and fast service. Not common to have oysters and they don?t hesitate to give you as much as you need.... Meat-wise the lamb was my favorite. The regular (lean) beef is a bit dry. Sauce bar is well stocked. Red bean dessert wassatisfying after a big meal. They accommodated solo eater as well. So delicious and so much fun and good price. I will be back. Read more

I really want to tell you that this restaurant is terrible and you shouldn't go here, but that would be a complete and utter lie... for selfish reasons. We've been frequenting V-Yan for years now and it is honestly our favorite restaurant. Not our favorite hotpot restaurant. Our favorite restaurant, period. We prefer getting just hot pot when we go, but we've done the BBQ and it's asdelicious as the hot pot is. The variety of meats, seafood, veggies, and noodles you can order is vast. Their sauce bar and howmany options they offer is what I dream about at night. And clearly I'm not the only one - this place is busy all the time andrightfully so. They don't take reservations so if you arrive for dinner between 6-8pm on any given night, you can expect to waitfor a table - but I promise, the wait is worth it! We've taken a bunch of our friends here and it may be out of the comfort zonefor some picky eaters, but for the most part, everyone we bring falls in love with this restaurant. The service isn't rude, butit's certainly not attentive, which let's be honest, I love the quality and variety of food here so much that I would totallystill go even if the service was terrible! If you are just there for inexpensive food, place is ok. But if you want good service, quality food (maybe other than the sliced... meat) and clean place, this would not be for you. Bathroom was not clean, and the waitresses didn?t have smiles, one of themlooked angry and unresponsive when you asked questions. So i do not recommend if you like quality. Read more

I haven?t seen my friend for such a long time. So we decided to meet up and have bbq. So we met in the middle which happen to be... VYan Hot Pot and BBQ.,. Right before we even came through the door, we were greeted with the hostess of the day. It was mid-dayso it wasn?t so busy, which was great for us because it was still covid season, and I wasn?t in the mood to be near a lot ofpeople. We were seated right away. A waitress came over and she explained what we needed to do and how it done. After we order,we went to get our sauces, utensils, bowls in the back of the store and when we came back our orders were already on the table. The waitress that placed the order for us, came back and help us with the grilling. And explained to us how it was done. Myfriend and I was very excited to be there and having bbq.. I order the angus flap and kalbi which are my favorite and then I hadorder Kim chee and lettuce and wrapped everything together, it was very tasty and delicious, .. my friend had order pork bellyand she said it was very good too. I think our waitress was summer or waiter jack was very attentive and patient with us becauseit was our first time there. I have read the other reviews saying the waitress was not very attentive or nice or has anattitude. I so disagree. I think that if you want to be treated with the same respect you should treat whomever you see the sameway. With respect! Mine you, it was mid-day in a weekday so it wasn?t as busy as a weekend. If you want the waitress to beattentive to you, you should come on a weekday. I wouldn?t know how it is in a weekend, but come on, everyone works so they canmake a living, but for the other reviewers making the waitress seems inadequate, lacking work ethics, should be ashamed ofthemselves, working in a restaurant is hard work. We were so fulled after ordering like 3 rounds of bbq that we save some roomfor desserts. I especially liked the cookies and cream and the coffee ice cream. I do definitely recom Read more

Hello all! My girlfriend and I are currently travelling all over NJ and NY looking for the best hot pot spots in the tri state... area, and boy do we have a treat for you! Located conveniently in Parsippany, V-YAN is a truly authentic hot pot experience, staff is attentive and friendly, choices are plentiful for vegan and non vegans alike, and extensive choices for broth as well! The scoop your own ice cream is also delicious. The only thing I could possibly ask for that they didn't already include was athicker peanut sauce, that being said try mixing their peanut sauce in with a little hoisin and thank me later. I really enjoy hot pot and always wanted to give Korean BBQ a try, so this place was the perfect stop to have both at the same... time. The hot pot portion was really good and I was happy with the selection of meats and vegetables. The sauce bar is on point, and their house sauce is delicious, alongside their Korean BBQ sauce. I wasn't as much of a fan of the Korean BBQ portion of ourmeal, personally, but it had nothing to do with the food and more to do with the level of attention required while ALSO eatinghot pot. I found it a lot at once. I would personally recommend trying them one at a time. However, the selection for the BBQwas also really wonderful! The interior has a great stylish look to it and everything looked clean. They had individual pots forthe hot pot and a communal grill for the table for the BBQ. I enjoyed the spicy style soup base and the final soup at the endwas amazingly delicious. The service was great and we never were waiting too long for plates to be collected or to put in a neworder. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for hot pot or BBQ! Read more
