My friends and I stop in here every year when we pass through Parry Sound. They have good food that is different from the common... pub food found in many other places. Between the six of us, we tried a few different meal selections and every one of us lovedthem. The burgers, and the fries were delicious. The chicken skewers with the Greek salad was excellent. 1st off, our food was delicious. and the decor was very nice. We live here and are not tourists. Have not been to trappers in... 20 years after a previous bad service experience, that's right "20 years". I had the cattle mans burger and my mum had wings.The food was excellent, really excellent, some of menu items are a tad expensive in my opinion, my burger was $19 and was worthit!! our server, Shirley, was a different story, when asked if the wing medium sauce was spicy, she replied I DON'T KNOW , IDON'T EAT CHICKEN WINGS. Wrong answer!! Oh wait I will go ask the kitchen would have been better. was this her 1st day workinghere?? Over all she seems to be a very miserable person and when my 84 year old mum had some confusion about the draft she wasordering , Shirley rolled her eyes, basically saying via facial expression f%k in decide what you want. she did come back to thetable to ask how things were several times and the only reason we gave her a $15 tip was my mum figured she was tired and havinga bad day. I am a restaurant owner & server too and generally make allowance for things but I'm betting she is like this all thetime , tired or not. She would not be working for me, with her attitude. Very disappointed. Price not cheap, quality just ok. Steak sandwich, the steak is over done. My biggest disappointment is their... service - waitresses did not serve my family in a pleasant way. Table is sticky, not a clean restaurant. Read more
Phoned ahead too see if the 3 of us could have breakfast. They said yes, so we drove in and were told they needed to stop... serving breakfast due to demand. Restaurant seemed to still have a decent amount of seating left, but sure their choice. A headsup on the phone that this could happen would have been appreciated. We recently stayed at the motel beside the restaurant during our golf trip. We stayed there Thursday and Friday night. The... restaurant staff were extremely friendly, tentative and took great care of us. We were there for Thursday dinner (steak andshrimp) Friday and Saturday morning breakfast. We were fortunate enough to have the same server each time we went in. She wasamazing! Food was amazing as well. 110 % recommend this restaurant you will not be disappointed. Read more
Tourist trap! Our group of four were camping nearby and stopped into town for what we thought would be a tasty meal. We ended up... getting takeout for four dishes (beef liver, chicken souvlaki, pickerel, and ribs). We came from Niagara region on our way to Sault Ste Marie. We ended up going here because Country Kitchen was closed. What a... happy accident! Wonderful! Excellent food and service! The coffee is really good. And clean, even the bathrooms are extremelyclean. There were 2 local contractor vans in the parking lot and when the locals go there, it's usually a pretty good sign.
