Located inside the Panorama BC Resort, Alto restaurant is situated right in the center of the attractions in the resort - it is... just beside all the gondola rides going up the beautiful mountains. When in Panorama, I would recommend this place (and it isthe most visible restaurant in the resort). My personal favorites are its pizza creations - specifically the Ham & Pineapple aswell as its El Clasico flavours. I specifically like their Ham and Pineapple pizza because of its soft and delicious ham. Thetaste is also unique because their pizza is cooked in a brick oven. The interior of the restaurant is not only spacious, but ithas already a modern design. The place would also be ideal for big family or even corporate gatherings because of its largeinterior size. When we went to this place this weekend, it was not so busy, so we were able to choose our own tables. Was here August 5th, 2022 around dinner time. The pizzas looked good, but the staff member making them was disgusting. As I... waited in line I watched the chef slick back his hair, wipe his nose with his bare hands, and then continue to make pizzas.This happened 4 times while I waited to order. It was so blatant it may have been deliberate given the fact that this is anOPEN kitchen and he is 3 feet from the people watching him. Ordered beers and gtfo. Stopped in for a drink and some food after the kids completed some of the activities nearby. As it was getting close to dinner... time, we figured we'd get an order of fries for the kids while the adults enjoyed a proper beverage. We were informed thatbecause there was an event happening that evening, the only thing that was available were pizzas or the pastries that were intheir cooler. Pretty disappointing considering there were no other real options available at the resort for food. The MountainMojito was delicious, but overpriced at $15, and their Bellini was an absolute joke at $12 as it's literally 2 shots of applejuice in a Champagne flute that's topped up with Champagne. The staff were nice and friendly, and the kids enjoyed theirchocolate croissants, but overall, two drinks and 4 chocolate croissants were $50 without tip. Typical resort prices, so nottotally unexpected. Would be nice if these buildings were properly airconditioned though. Read more
Latest review I keep trying to support this place but the manager is still checked out, service is hit and miss here. Be... better Alto! Your the only real restaurant on the hill when the golf course is closed. Second time I sent it back for under cookedshrimp. All other pizza is good but this is a fail on the chefs part. On. another note the food contamination is a problem. Watched the cook grab shrimp from prep container and the dug into veggie containers same glove. The is a fail by food healthinspectors. This a great spot but needs some management doing there job and correcting this poor food handling behaviour. Onlycustomer in place at noon on Saturday during COVD 19 scare and had to get there attention for service, wine glass was sittingempty for 30 min before I finally asked for a refill. We spent so much time here it?s criminal...we actually got asked to leave but that?s another story....fine I?ll tell you! We... were too drunk. Anyways! The Prosciutto arugula pizza was to die for. Espresso martinis are a must. And if you wanna go extracrazy get a bottle of Jackson Triggs on ice (they will charge you $50 for it). Our dinner and drinks were amazing. We?ve eaten here in previous years and I promise if you have as well it?s worth another try... this year. Honestly, some of the most delicious food I?ve had in a long time and amazing service! Thank you!! We had the beefshort rib and duck and both were so delicious!
