I give this place 2 stars only because of the sunset view we had. I was disappointed to see the lack of service we received. The... food was just barely warm when it was brought to us. I remember when this place first opened its doors for business and it wasawesome back then. It's been a few years since I've been back here. Living in the area it used to be a favorite spot to go eat.I sadly cannot say that now. The oysters on half shell was the best part of the dinner. Tonight was our first visit to The Shrimp Boat and I was thoroughly impressed. I ordered one of the specials - Grilled... Swordfish, mushroom risotto, asparagus and carrots. My meal was EXCELLENT. As a matter of fact, it is undoubtedly the best mealI've had on the Florida panhandle in a long, long time. It was really by accident that we ended up at The Shrimp Boat because wehad originally decided to dine at another nearby restaurant, but another couple in our party mentioned that they had not beenhere in many years. Everyone at our table had a great meal but I think my swordfish was the star of the evening. I candefinitely say that this is one place that will be added to my "must dine here" list. I just wish I had made a photo of my platebecause it was as beautiful as it was tasty. Read more

It has been a few years since going here to eat, so we thought we would try again. Unfortunately they are still under staffed,... but we understand that's the way it is in alot of restaurants. I ordered crab cakes. They were okay, not bad but not great. My husband ordered fish and chips, and his meal was good. So overall I would give it 3.5 stars, but not 4. Read more
This place had mixed reviews, but sometimes you need to try it for yourself and decide. I'm so glad we did! We arrived right... when they opened at 4 pm on a Friday night for dinner. Enjoyed the 2 for 1 drink special, the margaritas with Patron. GatorBites for an appetizer, and the Shrimp Boat Platter for dinner. The 2 of us split the plate and it was plenty of food. Food was delicious. We had the specials of the day for dinner. My husband had filet mignon topped with crab meat and served with... fingerling potatoes. The only downside to his meal was that it only came with one small single potato cut in half. That wasalso the only side served with husband's meal. There was no additional vegetables or a salad or soup. I got the red snapper onmushroom risotto. My meal also came with another side. I choose double mushroom risotto. I'm glad I did because it wasdelicious and I was able to give my extra portion to my husband. The restaurant was spacious and beautifully decorated forChristmas with Christmas music playing. Read more
