Last time I got ribs they were excellent. But I got the pulled pork this time and it was SLICED not pulled. And it was fatty and... tough and chewy(yuk) and the Mac and cheese was all flour. Horrible!! For 13$ a person I was pretty upset!! Saving grace, theonion rings were great. Read more

Everything is delicious. If you want a real hamburger this is the place. It's a little pricey but when you get it you'll... understand why. The burger is worth every penny. Of course all the smoked meats are great but I wasn't expecting them to havethe best burger in this area. Read more
Food was above average, store was reasonably clean and the service was fast and friendly. They have lunch specials and menu... prices are fairly reasonable. Brunswick Stew was one of the better I have ever had. Table had sweet, mild and hot BBQ sauce. I couldn't tell a difference between mild and hot, but the flavor was good. Most of the parking lot is a loose sandy gravel andis quite dusty when it's dry. Parking lot access from 22 and North Star, so in and out isn't too bad, even when traffic isheavy. First time going to J.R.'s Rib Shack. Ordered takeout. Half chicken and two sides, beans and greens. Pork sandwich and two sides... beans and mac and cheese. Hush puppies and corn fritters. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good barbecue sauce and selection(not that you need any) the smoke bite is awesome.Decent portions and price. I would recommend to others and eat here again whencraving good barbecue. P.S: Some of the best ranch dressing I've ever had. Read more
Down home southern goodness served up here. Our waitress was not only super friendly, she was very informative too. Plenty of... food gets served up so come with an appetite. Dine in service was available when we were served in October 2020. Read more
