I have been aware of Wahoo BBQ for a decent amount of time now from my frequent listening of 3WV Radio. I was helped... plentifully and treated with much kindness. Although the service rocked, I wasn?t a big fan of the food or the costs. Theyhave sauces that are either very vinegar based or super tomato-ee. I tried their signature, ?Acho? sauce (refrigerated levelcold) and it didn?t really change my mind. I would recommend people to at least try it, it isn?t that bad. I just didn?t likethe pulled pork bbq sandwich or the mac and cheese myself. If I were to return, I?d try their baby back ribs and the frenchfries instead. Read more

Food was very good, service was excellent. Prices also seemed about right...so....why not five stars? Glad you asked. It's... pretty simple, the brisket sandwich was excellent, but just a bit too fatty. Fat is good and it provides a lot of flavor, butnot always great in large chunks. Probably a one off and not really worth complaining about, so only four stars. Also, the slawhad too much vinegar for my tastes, but that doesn't really mean it was bad, just my opinion. Hence the four star review.However, I'll definitely be back and if the fatty brisket was a one off, I'll be sure to update my review. Best BBQ ever! We hired Wahoo BBQ to cater our wedding, and we are beyond happy we did. Everyone raved about the food.... Everything was yummy, but I think the brisket and mac & cheese were my personal favorites. The staff were incredibly friendly,and Howie & Claire were very communicative and easy to work with throughout the entire process. Found lunch. And it was very good. And not because of what happened next. Never before in my wide travels have I had a member... of the staff, my waitress Kelly to be specific, came up to me after my meal and said, " I want you to know I paid for yourlunch. Thank you for your service. "I told her that it wasn't necessary and she said it was an honor. First time ever . Yes,there are still some great full people out there. I want to give this more stars but just cant at the moment. Ordered to go a few times and got the hushpuppies. Each time I felt... like the value just wasn't there. I paid $5 for 7 hushpuppies. Pass on the nachos. For the price it just isn't worth it to me.there are better options for appetizers. I do like this place. There is a dining room, and on the other side is the pool table.The staff are always nice. All of the meat platters are good, and they have several sauce options. I tend to like wet meat so Iadd a lot of sauce, but it does have a good flavor even as it is served. The stew is good. The food is not pre prepared and ifyou go at lunch or dinner when they are busy it can take longer than expected, although well worth the wait. Just know this, andif your short on time, then it may be best to stop in another day, or call ahead for to go. The servers often will say thereare no substitutions for sides, but it is possible. For a long while we had to order extra sides to get what we wanted. Then oneday we were told we could sub sides. Not sure if its complicated to ring this in or if they were trying to up the check average.This is a mom and pop local place so I don't get the vibe that management is hounding them for check averages as with yourlarger chain places.
