Reviews for Cunningham Creek Winery in Palmyra, VA
Fabulous time was had by all (26 ladies) associated with the women's golf teams at Lake Monticello. We had a social event... planned for outdoors, but when the rain from the hurricane came, the owners Debby and Bruce allowed our group to move inside. The service was excellent when we ordered full bottles or glasses. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Ifyou need to find a location for a large group to gather, then Cunningham Creek Winery is the place! Thank you for a wonderfultime. We will be back in the future, now that we have experienced this excellent place! Read more
A friend and I spent the whole day at Cunningham Creek yesterday and were overwhelmed by the hospitality, friendliness, and... comfort. Dog-friendliness was a priority for us, since we have 5 pups between us, which in many places means leashed dogs areallowed in outdoor spaces -- which is great -- but Cunningham Creek welcomes well-behaved leash dogs inside the tasting room, aswell as treats and belly rubs, which for a HOT August day, was absolutely the difference of a short visit and a glass of wine oran entire day and a few bottles. We got there early enough to take advantage of the outdoor fully-fenced dog park, which for mycity dogs was such a treat to romp around in before the heat was unbearable. The wine, a chilled red called "Menage a Paw", wasa crisp, refreshing light-bodied jammy red. If not for having to drive, we could have enjoyed more! The tasting room showcaseda local artist's pet portraits (lovely!) and a nice selection of wine and pup-themed wares. The owners, managers, and staffwere friendly, accommodating, and hospitable. I have been to over 50 wineries in Virginia and never felt as welcome with my 2dogs as Cunningham Creek made us with our gaggle of 5. The property is scenic and beautiful, and the live music in the lateafternoon attracted 2 and 4-legged guests including families with small children. If you find yourself in the Charlottesvillearea, do yourself a favor and enjoy a visit to Cunningham Creek Winery. Read more
First winery. The reds were good. Lots of cherry flavors coming through. Menage à Paw had a spice cherry flavor. Herd Dog... Rescue was OK. Meritage had a smokiness in it. The petit verdot was rich but not as powerful as expected. Then I finishedwith the port style which was tasty but a bit too sweet. This winery has a comfortable feel to it. It includes a little storewhere you can buy cheeses and snacks. And the winery dogs came by for a visit :) Read more

Cunningham Creek has been a most gracious host to the Persimmon Tree Players during our exile from Carrysbrook. Debbie and Bruce... have allowed us to rehearse and present our plays on their deck. And the wine is great too. Read more

The wine is fantastic.. my personal favorite is the dry rosé, which is a perfect selection year-round. The owners arefriendly and accommodating, as are their staff! They also have great events like live music, special events, and even outdoortheatre. If you haven't made the trip out here, you're missing out! Read more
We visited here while on a weekend getaway in the vicinity. We've been to many wineries and would recommend anyone who loves... visiting them and feeling welcomed by the cordial staff and even a two-dimensional celebrity. Read more
Visiting from out of state and could not have had a more enjoyable visit. The outdoor area had beautiful views of the orchard,... creating idyllic seclusion while still being close to town. My kids ran around playing with other kids while we enjoyed amazingwine and listened to great music. The owners and staff were so friendly and we are beyond grateful for this new vacation memory. My only regret is that we don't live closer. If you are going to be in the area it is well worth any detour, and if you're localyou should be there right now. Read more
