Massive postions. I almost want to say the place is cheap, compared to most breakfast spots in Miami. Very mom-n-pop feel, lots... of TV?s, mixed local crowd, not your Instagram-pink-sparkly, over the top typical Miami restaurant, which is a plus. Blueberrypancakes were excellent, order one per person bc they are monsterous. Was not impressed at all! The food was very bland and flavorless. I ordered ?The Usual? and added a buttermilk pancake, there... was nothing buttermilk or fluffy about it, was not sweet, and frankly just tasted like dough. My wife ordered the chicken andwaffles but substituted the waffles for French toast. Chicken was cooked perfectly however lacked any seasoning at all, I had toadd salt to it. French Toast was decent but eggy. The sweet tea was absolutely on point????????And the hot coco was okay, staffhowever doesn?t know the difference between making the hot coco with water or milk. The reason I gave it a 1 star because of false advertising. I ordered a hot chocolate with whipped cream which comes out as... $3.95. I asked the waiter with what liquid do they prepare the hot chocolate with, milk or water? He responded with water. Iasked him if they can please make mine with milk. He said yes but there will be a milk charge. I said, I?m fine with that. Sowhen I get my bill, I see a .57 cent charge for whipped cream. Mind you, the menu already stated that the hot chocolate comesalready with whipped cream. They never took out the difference and the waiter just stated that they charge for EVERYTHING. I?mnot a first time customer but after today, I will not step inside this establishment again. I?m not mad for .57 cent. Is theprincipal. It?s like saying they are selling a hamburger with fries for $10 but when you get your bill they charged you an extra$5 for fries. That is called FALSE ADVERTISING. This was what the ?Avocado Benedict? looks like. Inedible. Rotten avocado, drowning in nasty looking Hollandaise (I like... Hollandaise but this is ridiculous). How was this plate deemed acceptable by the chef to bring out to the table? The wait staffwas completely inattentive and rude. We practically had to beg them, especially our waitress, to come by and sat with our creditcards waiting to pay for 20 minutes. Y?all are lucky we didn?t just walk out. Also, the waitress claimed she ?didn?t like herjob very much? which is very unprofessional, and I could tell she didn?t like her job based on her work habits. We won?t begoing back here ever again. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The food is just delicious. Definitely will be in my breakfast restaurant... rotation. Certainly recommend anyone and everyone to eat at Walter's. It ?s official! The magic of Walter?s home cooking is OVER. This is the third time we give Walter?s a chance to redeem... themselves from the previous time. It is understandable the most restaurants are short handed. That explains the long waits anddelays. Nevertheless, there is no excuse for poor food quality. They have neglected the food for a long time now. We had it. Itcame to the Emperor?s Salad, no flavor and the chicken was way overcooked. The blueberry pancake was NASTY; something I hadnever experience before. Went because of the reviews and was not disappointed. It's a busy spot but it's runs very well. Didn't wait long to be seated... and was promptly served drinks. The food took a little long to arrive but the spot was packed so I understood. Food wasdelicious, smoke serving sizes and overall had a great experience. I had taken my mom out to eat and was mighty glad I foundthis spot. Definitely recommend! Read more
Have always been curious about this place. We decided to give it a try. Wow! Worth it. We were seated immediately at the bar. I... was literally in front of the kitchen. Their team works like a well oiled machine. The service was prompt. The food came outmuch faster than expected. Flavor was delicious. I got The Usual and my husband got The Farmer's Breakfast. While everything wasgood, the home fries were incredible. The prices were reasonable and we couldn't finish our meals from being so full. We'lldefinitely be back. Read more
