I used to love this place, but I went there last week for lunch and was disappointed in my falafel pita sandwich. The pita... itself was not the pillowy, airy, soft bread I've enjoyed there for years; rather, it was dry, thin, and reminded me of adehydrated chamois cloth. The falafel were mealy and a little bit bitter, and the lettuce was lifeless. Copious amounts oftzatziki sauce sauce could not rectify the situation Read more

Tucked back in the corner of this Home Depot plaza is a hidden gem. Aladdin has all your Mediterranean favorites. The humus is... to die for. Seriously, no one even comes close. Chicken dishes, lamb and gyros, salads are huge portions. Desserts of baklavaother other pastries make this a lunch/dinner experience worth taking. Read more

There's a lot to like about Aladdin Mediterranean Grill! IMHO, they are probably among the top places to get Mediterranean style... food in the North County, and that says a lot! Unlike many places in the region that specialize in Greek food, Aladdin isprimarily a Lebanese restaurant that also serves Greek and other Mediterranean style foods. Therefore, if I want a really goodgyro, while the ones at Aladdin are tasty, I'm best to head to another area Greek restaurant that specializes in them. However,if I'm in the mood for the best Shawarma, then this is the place to be! The restaurant was founded by a lebanese immigrant whoworked in NY making middle eastern treats and pastries, then moved to this area working in other restaurants before opening thisone. As I mentioned, their shawarma is top notch - served in warm lavash with tomatoes, onions, pickles and rich tahini. Theirhummus and baba ghanoush are also best among others in the area, the first being particularly creamy and the latter possessingthe perfect beloved charred, smokey eggplant flavor. Their menu is also larger than most Mediterranean restaurants in theregion, featuring harder to find dishes like braised lamb shanks! Yum! Finally, there's quite a selection of regional desserts(which have been adequate but not stellar), a friendly, helpful staff and quaint indoor and outdoor dining spaces. If youhaven't been, then it's really worth a try! Read more
