Worst hotel experience in Florida! The Colony, in Palm Beach, deceives the unsuspecting. It's pretty on the outside, with... kitschy decor, and the cuisine in your restaurant is very tasty. The rest sucks. Mainly the service! Completely arrogantreception, not giving answers to our questions. We wanted someone who spoke Spanish and for days the two incompetentreceptionists said that there was no one in the hotel who spoke the language. At the end of our stay we counted at least fourpeople who speak Spanish. One of the receptionists entered our room, without authorization, and with a ?Do Not Disturb? on thedoor. Oh, I didn't even mention the dirt in the rooms. Hair in glasses, on bathroom floors and on mattresses. The first nightthey put us in a room that didn't have a blackout. When we complained, they put us in one where the bathroom curtain was madeof paper. The excuse: ?We are under construction?. We put clothes to wash, the maids didn't take them. All difficult,terrible service, horrible! The various managements simply ignore the entire team's indifference. And the owner of the placeis hidden we don't know where? Beautiful and great location, and beyond excellent service, but they don?t tell you when booking that they are undergoing major... construction. Authorized to start at 9 but when I was there started as early as 7 am! Also room I was in was not blackout darkeven though it had supposedly black out shades in case this is important to anyone. And no fridge/mini bar. The hotel bar servescreative cocktails with live music. Food was excellent and excellent and very friendly service but very pricey (to be expectedin that area but pricey even coming from NYC). With all these flaws I?d still stay here again once construction has beenfinished because of the level of excellence of the staff. I would also stay here again for work (great wifi) and if I knew I wasjust going to be waking up early every day! Read more
CALLING ALL INTERIOR DESIGNERS!! This place is absolutely gorgeous. I came here for a day trip and loved every angle & nook.... This place is definitely an inspiration for any creative homeowner. I didn?t stay overnight so my review is exclusively a 5stars for the ambiance/decorations and the newly renovated Swifty's pool. Read more
I had a wonderful stay at the Colony Hotel this passed weekend for my friends bachelorette. I was very impressed by the level of... service and friendliness of the staff. They were happy to accommodate any requests and drove my friends and I to all of ourrestaurants. The hotel is very charming with a beautiful pink lobby and cute outside restaurant. I personally loved the older,vintage feeling of the rooms and I felt like I got the full Palm Beach experience! I would definitely go back! Read more
This review is not about a stay but rather a luncheon we had outside. There is no negatives about how beautiful the ambiance is.... . . What was horrible was the service! We waited for 40 minutes until someone came over to the table to take our drink order. Wewould have been better off going to the bar. Once we got our drink order, it took forever to get our food. It was a snails pace.The food was not bad but for the price, it could have been a lot better. The charcuterie board was a joke. That was $5 worth ofcrackers and such for $38. It was laughable. I think I had to get up from our table 4/5 times to get someone to come to ourtable. I brought a cake with us for a birthday celebration and I thought they dropped the cake because that was another 25minutes. What a shame going to a five star hotel with a 1 star meal! Read more
