We heard rumblings of this place for a couple years so it was much anticipated. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and I can see... why it took so long to open. We had dim sum (shrimp gao, pork pot stickers, ribs), and a few entrees. The ribs were actuallydelicious but the dim sum itself was a bit underwhelming in terms of flavor. Which is absolutely no excuse for the pricing. Thegeneral tso chicken was good but it was definitely on the salty side. It needed a more sweet flavor to it. The fried rice tastedsuper soy saucy, lacked a richness in flavor also but it wasn't bad. Overall this place gives me more cocktail vibes rather thana true Chinese restaurant. Essentially it's regular american Chinese food wrapped i na very fancy restaurant. It did not do itfor me. Read more

Dinner was wonderful tonight as 4 of us shared 6 dishes. Dumplings were very good, spare ribs better, steak even better then... some kind of shrimp dish and some kind of chicken. Waitress was a delightful woman who, while kind of out of character in aChinese restaurant was a joy and made our evening special. Read more

I write this with sadness as I’m so disappointed with this place. But these reviews are important and various members employed... here asked me to speak up. We sat at the bar as it had open seating. Ordered drinks and food. I saw the young lady inputeverything. Our drinks were made fresh and served right in front of us. We waited almost two hours for our food, multiple wentto check on it and when it finally came out it was a major disappointment. The food lacked everything. From flavor to beingauthentic. It was by far the worst “Asian” food I’ve ever had. It almost tasted like frozen grocery store food that wasreheated. We even ordered an appetizer that never made it out until the bartender went back several times to check on it. Seemsas though they lost the ticket or forgot the order and ended up rushing the order. Not to mention any of the requests made withthe food was not even made. We told them to not even worry about it and cancel it. I did pay the bill but when asked how it wasI advised that this was foods I wouldn’t even serve my dogs. I believe Andrea is the hostess at the front. She checked inwith us and apologized and advised to call and speak with Manny the manager. I made two phone calls and haven’t heardback. With the rave reviews I saw a while back and looking at Hai Houses social media I just knew it would be amazing... howeverI learned they recently transitioned and had closed down for a while and reopened under new everything. The one positive thingI can say is that the two young ladies behind the bar that night (Christmas Night) are amazing and so sweet. They felt our painand tried to do whatever to make it better. Unfortunately I do not recommend this place... not a good look for Palm BeachIsland at all. Read more

We were all pretty disappointed with Hai House. While our waitress was nice, she was barely trained and did not listen very... well. She did comp a drink when she messed up the order. Unfortunately, our waitress had no idea what liquor was behind bar (shethought Don Julio was a bourbon) and did not carry a spirit's list. Further, she wasn't well trained on the tastes in the menu,i.e., she really couldn't describe the menu items very well. I shared the Peking Duck with a friend; it was good, but notmemorable (Komodo in Miami was much better). For me, the most disappointing aspect was the bar. In this day and age, I don'tknow how a high end restaurant doesn't use large, clear, ice in cocktails, it truly boggles my mind. Further, the whisk(e)yselection was lack luster; a restaurant in Palm Beach should have an excellent selection. While I probably wouldn't complain ifsomeone wanted to go there for dinner, I wouldn't choose to go back. I suspect that the Hai House will suffer the curse of everyother restaurant that's shared that location, hopefully the next concept will get it right. Read more

We went to Hai House with another couple about 4 days after they opened. Ordered a lot of different things. Scallion Pancakes... were very tasty but small. Not enough to share between 4 people. Mandarin Beef was just sliced steak not traditional style. Goodbut very expensive at $42. Tried a few other dishes including General Tso Chicken and enjoyed all. They needed more time to gettheir act together. We decided to go back a few weeks later and had a really different and good experience. Bao Buns, SpicyShrimp Rolls, Dumplings, all excellent. Service was very good and we had an excellent meal. The food was very much improved andwe will be back! Read more
