Cute shop. The Barista was nice, and it wasn't super busy when we went. They have lunch, sweet treats, coffee beans and... souvenirs. Also they have smoothies or hot chocolate for the littles. Was about the same price as Starbucks but, with a betteratmosphere and better coffee. Read more
My family and I visit Higher Grounds every year when on our family vacation to Pagosa. I?ve always had a good experience until... today. I ordered an oat milk latte with 3 shots of espresso. (My usual drink I get at every coffee shop I go to). And it tastedburnt. I tasted my moms drink (which was the EXACT same drink as mine - a 12 oz oat milk latte with 3 shots) and it tastedcreamy and delicious. By looking at the two drinks you can see that my oat milk was burnt. I kindly went & asked the baristabehind the counter if I could get this drink re-made because it tasted bitter and burnt. She tried to explain to me that it?sbecause I got 3 shots of espresso so it?s going to taste stronger. I tried explaining to her that my mom got the exact samedrink as me and hers tastes creamy but she didn?t listen. She offered to pour more oat milk in but that wouldn?t take care ofthe burnt taste of the oat milk so I declined. I never ask for drinks to be remade, so it was frustrating to be talked down toby an employee when I know exactly what burnt oat milk looks and taste like. I have an immense amount of respect for people inthe service industry, so it was very disappointing to be spoken down to in that way. I understand mistakes happen in drinks, butI don?t understand why this drink couldn?t be re-made and why she was so rude. Especially when I spent so much on a coffee,pastry, & a mug. This experience makes me hesitant to want to return to this establishment, which was previously a favorite ofmine. Read more
My husband and I both ordered iced lattes. He got caramel and I got blackberry white mocha. The drinks aren't terrible, they are... just extremely average. There is nothing special about this coffee that separates it from other coffee shops or makes it standout. Very very average Read more

10/10 brunch experience! The food was fantastic, & was VERY fresh. Got a Veggie Wrap & a scone they both were amazing! The... baristas were super nice & even gave me a refill on my tea for no extra charge! From Phoenix, Arizona we ?? visiting Pagosa Springs! Higher Grounds Coffee is quaint serving up popular coffee choices. All of... the food is made in house and is delicious, even my husband likes eating here. Today we had a bagel sandwich, quiche, strawberrysmoothie, drip coffee, then a gluten free zucchini muffin and cinnamon roll for the road ????. We highly recommend stoppingby! Wow, that was good!! Ordered a simple bacon egg and cheese on a biscuit - good stuff for sure. The biscuit was main from... scratch and was amazing. It was moderately busy, but the staff had no issues performing as a team and churning out orders withquality - kudos! Even more, there was a cozy atmosphere to kill a few minutes to get off the feet and take a rest for a moment. Read more
