Reviews for La Mia Cucina in Pacific Grove, CA
The chef owner and wife team greet you as you enter and check on you as the meal progresses. Service was very good, attentive... but not too much. Wine selection good. Now the food was fantastic. Creative but also comfort fare. Dessert's; you must savesome room for. The Sherry cake brought me back in time. Moms did hit it with more Sherry but that was her. La Mia Cucina hasbeen solidly placed on our list of dinning establishments to frequent on our trips to Pacific Grove. Read more

My compliments to everyone at La Mia Cucina for a wonderful dinner and evening. Paula are hostess, Gabriel and Rosa our servers... and let us not forget Michael in the kitchen. My mother and I split an appetizer of calamari with house made tartar sauce. Ihad split pea soup and the seafood catch of the day salmon and pasta. She had Lobster ravioli & a chardonnay. My sister hadeggplant parmigiana with a white wine. Everyone agreed dinner was absolutely delicious along with a wonderful after dinnerconversation with Michael. Gabriel and Rosa Thank you once again you were an absolute delight, attentive and knew your menuwell. Read more
I have never written a review before in my 65 years on this earth. But after my experience I felt compelled to say something. My... wife and I went there recently. The food was very good, and the service was among the best I have had recently, due to thewaiter Louis. My wife loved her Veal Marsala, and my Eggplant Parmigiana was good. The problem was the hostess. She greetedeveryone in the restaurant and personally went to each table to inquire about the meal or to chit chat. She even greeted peoplestrolling by the restaurant. She was obvious in her omission of our table. While I am not asking her to stop by my table andbecome my new best friend, the snub was duly noted. This to me was a clear example of a Micro Aggression. You see, my wife and Iare Black. I couldn’t help but to think a few decades back we wouldn’t have been allowed in the restaurant Thank God thewait staff was so nice. And I pray that this treatment is not experienced by other patrons of color. Read more
Lucky us! We were able to get in only because someone cancelled last minute. Delicious food, nice ambience, wonderful service.... Started with their delicious focaccia bread, entree's came with salad or soup. Hubby chose salad, I chose the chicken soup.Hubby had the most delicious freshly made gnocchi with 2 kinds of sauce. I chose the sand dabs. We celebrated his bday w/theirstrawberry dessert, delicious! Happy tummies :) Will most definitely return! Read more
Awesome food every single time we come here!!!! My family's favorite place to go!!!! We love Giovanni and all the staff ???
The taste was insane from antipasti to dolci !!!! i am fanatic of italian pasta but The reason why i don’t eat out for italian... foods recently is because most italian restaurants don’t have any philosophy or seriousness about italian cusines. This placeblows my taste-buds! Even my daughter ate all dishes served from focaccia to creme brulee. Server was so knowledgeable, niceguy! What a dish!!!! I strongly recommend this place if you are into pasta, next level of Italian experiences. Ordered listswere veal soup, tortiglioni, lobster ravioli based on mascapone cheese, arancini(best ever!) creme brulee, blood orange sorbet, dopio espresso! [Update] They served cold pasta, also pasta noodle was so overcooked!! i give it 3 stars! Read more
We came here enticed by the 4.6+ rating. The service is wonderful - warm, kind, committed. The ambience is fun with the colorful... vintage posters lining the walls. The crowd is full of loyal local patrons so I trust that this is a much loved restaurant. Sothe 3-star rating is more about the food. The crab/prawn cake appetizer was tasty but the rubbery chewy pieces of prawn made thedish less enjoyable. Kudos to the staff for letting me share my candid feedback directly with chef. How often do restaurantssend their chef to chat with a patron? Not many I think. The Caesar salad was dressed in a fresher dressing than I expected ????and topped with softer cheese than aged Parmesan. The arancini was sized like racquetballs and the rice grain texture insidewas mushy. I extracted the homemade sausage from the core and enjoyed the tomato-herb sauce circling the 3 rice balls. Thelobster ravioli dish overall was too sweet. Some of the pillows had a nice portion of filling. Other pillows had a lot less. Iwonder whether the mascarpone cheese dominates the filling and the taste of fresh lobster. Our waiter recommended a really nicewine to accompany our dinner. Experience overall was 4-stars. Read more
