We had our one year wedding anniversary which we wrote in the notes section of our reservation. We were disappointed that we... were seating right at the entrance having to deal with the customer traffic. We also expected a little something special tocommemorate our special day, like a glass of champagne or something like that. The seats didn't suit the tables height and gotuncomfortable very quickly. The table next to us had there flashlight shining at us for a solid 5min before we handled thesituation ourselves. The food sadly didn't meet our expectations and was disappointed for that price point. In particular thefried chicken was bland and very tough. We let the Forest Panzanella taken back because it also lacked in flavour. Themadeleines with the goat cheese were delicious and we also loved the black garlic fries. Our server was kind and helpful, butthat didn't quite make up for the experience we had. Read more
Recently visited The Garrison and was highly impressed. The atmosphere and location is so unique and creates an amazing place... for a special dinner. It was also so fun to learn and hear the history of the restaurant and even how the name ties in withOzarks history. I especially enjoyed the smoked old fashioned and the brown sugar glazed salmon! We had an excellent time. I was worried after reading a couple of the reviews. But I must say, those reviews were opposite our... experience. Our waitress, Erin, was fantastic. The drinks were excellent and so was the food. The ambiance of the place wasfabulous. We sat near the entrance and thoroughly enjoyed watching how excited people were to give the password to the hostess.???? It was a great evening! Read more
First of all the food is average at best, but comes with a high price. The menu was very limited, the portions are very small,... and they recommended that we order multiple plates for each person at the table. (They acknowledged the portions are too small) This of course increases the price. The property and restaurant itself is very pretty, & the server was good. The experience andatmosphere might be worth it for some, but not for us. I would consider coming back if the menu was expanded, portions larger,quality of taste improved etc. Read more

Man, the bad reviews, from our experience, are not warranted. However, I do know that when restaurants open, especially like... this one, standards are high. That being said, they were met with flying colors for us. We couldn?t get a table, so decided tosit at the bar, and probably will do that moving forward because the service was astounding and the questions we asked about thefood, drinks and the the history of the farm were met with an exciting eagerness, and went far above and beyond expectations.The atmosphere is incredible as to be expected with a Morris establishment. The drinks were great and the food was absolutelydelicious. I could be hypercritical, and say that the skin on my duck was not as crispy as it probably should have been, or thatthe giant scallop was just a tad undercooked, but that would be unfair because the experience and food were all in all,incredible. This will be our go to when we have out of town guests, period, end of story. If you want to have a specialexperience and entertain anyone, for whatever occasion, for whatever reason, I?m not sure you?re going to find a better venue inSpringfield or surrounding.
