Reviews for 50th Parallel Estate Winery / BLOCK ONE Restaurant in Lake Country, BC
This winery is absolutely stunning ????. We did the essential wine tasting for $8 and tasted 5 wines. This winery is more on the... white wine side then red. But overall the tasting was great. Afterwords we went to the restaurant. In the tasting room we weretold it’s happy hour but when we got to the restaurant they weren’t too happy to give us happy hour menus. The hostess toldus happy hour is only in the outdoor seating and the bar but we were seated at the kind of inside seating. They moved us to thebar with rude faces and were little snarky about it. It was 33•c outside and we were sat in front of the flaming hot pizzaoven. My boyfriend and I were melting. The food was good but way over price. The oysters on the happy hour menu were moreexpensive then on the real menu. But over all the winery was great but the restaurant I dont think Id go to again. Read more
Had the Pinot noir- highly recommend. Finished the bottle easily heheh. The lamb ribs- fall off the bone, phenomenal. Salmon was... SO good. The mussels with it was so great too. The chicken was good- maybe a little dry? But the pairing/sides with it wasgreat! The dessert was good- nice way to end the meal off. Had complimentary white wine at the beginning because they knew itwas our anniversary! Definitely recommend- such a great atmosphere. Amazing service ! Read more
My friends and I came here as our first of seven stops on our wine tour. We tasted five wines for eight dollars. One of the... employees there is really knowledgeable. An Einstein. Or in this case a Winestein. Very thorough explanation about the wines.Generous sample sizes and all five samples were delicious. They were attentive. We ended up buying a bottle afterwards. It's agreat first stop if you're coming from Vernon. Read more
I’ve been here for dinner and loved it so much I knew I’d go back the next time I’m in Kelowna. Recently, I went back for... lunch and it was just as good as I remembered it - both the service and quality of food were on point. If you like seafood, Irecommend the squid and the scallops to start! Read more
Celebrated our friends birthday here on a spectacular day in the Okanagan valley and would come back in a hearbeat. We ordered... all of the appetisers and a few bottles of Pinot Gris and Rose. Notable favourites include the tangy steak tartare, searedscallops and silky tuna crudo. Sincere thanks to our server Alex who took care of us and never steered us astray. Read more
Specifically for the restaurant, our waiter was absolutely fantastic. So friendly and personable, made sure we had a great time.... Duck wings and mushroom pizza were great. Portions are decent. Tastings wise, they're informative about the characteristics ofeach wine and their notes. All tasting wines were on the drier side. Read more
While the staff was unable to provide me with a paid tour, Travis was more than happy to give us a wine tasting and a small tour... of the estate. Travis has made our afternoon beyond what we expected and we will be coming back. I would give this place 10stars if I could. The staff here are very pleasant and knowledgeable. The atmosphere, the architecture and the view isabsolutely beautiful. To the staff of 50th Parallel Estate Winery and Travis, thank you. Read more
I was in town recently for work and during the winter it's hard to find fun ways to spend your free time. I decided to head up... to 50th Parallel late afternoon on a Monday, not expecting much due to the time of year. I was blown away with my experience! The manager Amrit, got me set up in the tasting room and Blake gave me the VIP treatment as he guided me along the winesoffered. After my tasting Amrit got me a table in the dining room for dinner, offered great suggestions and was very hospitable. The wine, food and experience were all fantastic, I've never received service like this at any other winery during the summerand definitely wouldn't have ever imagined I'd get it on a winter Monday. Highly recommended!!! Read more
