I've come here in the past, and the food is always good. Today, though, we waited for an hour and a half and never got our food.... We also never got a water refill. We did get our appetizer, so we did pay for that and eventually left. This is not to say thatRafters is a bad restaurant because the food and drinks are good! Having read that this was the ?best brunch in Oxford?, I was quite excited to stop in. It is located in the upstairs area of a... wonderful older building. As the name might giveaway, you can see the large rafters and feel like you are a part of somethingmagical. Unfortunately the only reason this review receives two stars is the interior space. Realizing that we are in the midstof a labor shortage, I am reticent to comment on staff. There are, however, instances where it cannot be avoided. It appearsthat the two hostesses on duty do not care for one another. I, and a large waiting party, got to witness some of their sniping.It appears that one of the hostesses, also charged with bussing tables, was not thrilled about working this day. Her efforts arewiping the table consisted of one spray to a tiny corner follow by random swipes with a rag. Our waiter seem to be an earnestyoung man who wanted to get through the basics of his job. This at least allowed one of our party to get a refill, but I was notso lucky. We ordered the chicken and waffles, and the adult grilled cheese with fries. The crust of the chicken is actuallyquite tasty. It has just the right amount of spice and is thick and golden. The rest of the meal was terrible, mostly because itwas ice cold. No one in the history of the world has ever had a decent cold grilled cheese sandwich. Maybe it was just an offday for them, although they didn?t seem to be overwhelmingly busy. This was absolutely one of the WORST restaurant experiences I?ve ever had. We sat in there for over 2 hours waiting on our food... with no warning that is was going to take that long. We had terrible customer service and when the food finally came it was coldand missing sides. We never got all of our missing sides or a replacement on the cold food. I usually never write reviews butthis one is worth noting. Out of the tables around us we all had the same experience. The table next to us finally just got upand left. The only good thing is after asking to talk to the manager about our experience our waitress voided ourtickets.Terrible experience in general!! Read more
Exceptional food located at Sardis Lake Marina near Engineers Point on Sardis upper lake. The fried shirt is very good and try... the fried okra. Nice outdoor seating, music on the weekends, beer and liquor are available for purchase inside the restaurant.Responsive staff and good management allow a nice place to relax in the evening or daytime while enjoying the lake on or off thewater. Fun atmosphere with great live music but service was terrible and the food wasn't much better. Took 20 minutes for a waitress to... even come over to our table, then a full hour to get our food after ordering. Read more
Nice place for brunch. They have $15 bottomless mimosas and the places gets busy. Heads up, the mimosas are pretty week. I wish... they had more food selections for brunch, but the Chicken & Biscuit Chorus was pretty good and prices were okay. They had livemusic and a nice little outdoor area with a bar. Read more
Simply awful! Waited over an hour for food. Paid $40 for a cold plate of "tenderloin", sticky cold grits, dry waffle and piece... of leather they called sausage. Worst of all, neither server nor management cared. Read more
Horrible place to come for lunch on Sundays. Waited for 2.5 hours for food and it was still not served.
