Recently I decided to try this new restaurant in Oxford. I had some time to kill so I walked in, saw numerous open tables which... was surprising as it was on the eve of a major SEC home football game. I sat down close to the bar. I waited for a server tooffer me a menu or a glass of water. After I seated myself a number of customers came in after me. They were seated and offeredmenus and their orders were taken. Still no service for me. I sat in the line of sight of the hostess station and bar. After 15minutes of no service I had to leave for an appointment. I asked the bartender for the contact details of a manager. Sheprovided me with the information. Suddenly she oh wait here's the manager, the manager was the hostess for the evening also. Themanager asked if anything was wrong and I relayed my story to her which I realized was a waste of time as she had to havenoticed me sitting at the table all that time. She told me I should have waited to be seated as the notice on the waitressstation required? To this day I did not see such a notice, but she was insistent that I had missed the request to wait to beseated. I can't tell you about their table service as I had none. I can't comment on their menu as I never saw one, neither canI comment on the quality of their food as I left without anything to eat or drink. Unfortunately I can't comment on their pricesas I never saw a menu. To remedy the problem I was offered a complimentary starter at my next visit... This was the worstservice I've experienced in almost 30 years of living in and frequenting restaurants in Oxford, Mississippi. Rating -10 . Itwill take a whole long time for me to consider going back if ever. Read more

Ambience is great, and we've always had good service. They seem to have a tendency to overcook, and some of the dishes... (souvlaki, gyros) end up being quite dry. Read more

Food was excellent. The kitchen got a bit overwhelmed but eventually delivered. Service was fantastic and certainly made the... whole experience good for 14 of us! Definitely would go back no question. Read more

Our visit on June 25, was perfect in every way. The lamb chops were the best my husband claims he has ever had. I am assuming... he is including lamb he has eaten in Greece and the islands. Our waitress was charming and very efficient. We could not haveasked for a better experience! Can't wait for our next visit to Oxford and Opa! Read more

The food was delicious, but our waitress was slow and disorganized, and was nowhere to be found the majority of our meal. We sat... in the patio area for nearly 30 minutes while 3 other tables were seated, had drinks & appetizers, and had their meal orderstaken by their waitresses. It wasn't very busy during our Saturday late lunch, so it was very off-putting that we were almost 40minutes into our visit before we got drinks. Our appetizers arrived within 3 minutes of our main courses, so the timing was alsoa bit of a mess. But the food earned them some extra stars. The gyrolls, solo hummus dip & pitas, pita mozz, grilled shrimpwrap, and the beef & lamb gyro were all delicious. The ham and cheese melt had thick hunks of ham and very little flavor, so itwasn't a hit with our crew. The kiddo of the bunch liked the cheese pitza a lot, and the portion was perfect. We will try itagain, but next time we hope the service is better. Read more

Opa is a phenomenal restaurant. Came through as a tourist to Oxford and stopped by - so happy that I did because I had one of... the best meals I?ve ever had. The atmosphere is classy while still being comfortable, the staff is extremely welcoming andinsightful on recommendations/the menu. The food itself is a showstopper. From classic Greek cuisine to abstract takes oningredients, there is so much to enjoy. As a table we ordered most of the appetizers which all tasted great without feelingrepetitive (the gyrolls and feta fritters were awesome!!). My boyfriend enjoyed the beef and lamb gyro and I loved the Greeksalad. If you drink alcohol- their cocktails are delicious. My favorite was the Pamarita. Seriously, if you find yourself inOxford - make a stop to Opa and enjoy a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere. Read more
