Update: Went back and had Sangria with corn Enchiladas Tapatias. Another great dining experience dining in. Highly Recommend. ... 1st visit: The atmosphere is pleasant with lots of plants and lighting that is not overpowering. I hadTaquitos Mexicanos. The beef reminded me of the hamburger they used at El Burrito in Jackson, MS ,when I was growing up - moreauthentically seasoned. The veggies and sauce tasted fresh. The service was very friendly, accommodating and prompt. The hostessbrought me a lunch menu that specified gluten free items - very thoughtful since we were dining at night. Read more

I work in Oxford a lot, and this has to be one of the best restaurants I?ve eaten at so far! The food was wonderful, and the... staff was very friendly! I had my puppy with me, so they seated me on the patio and even brought my puppy a bowl of water! Idefinitely recommend this place! Read more

Quality is meh prices a bit high $$ and flavor lacking. 3 out 5 stars it wasn't terrible but expected more. Staff was great and... friendly. except my shrimp they gave me huge shrimp. The atmosphere is gorgeous and inviting. They are a little proud on theprices of the food. Kiddo wanted a side item Mac n cheese tasted processed and over cooked soggy noodles. I think the cast ironplate over cooked them. My shrimp fajitas were great huge shrimp flavorful great portion. Fiance's mixed nachos chicken andbeef. It wasn't the good queso cheese it was like super processed, the beef had a weird flavor like onion powder, garlic powder, and maybe a tiny bit of cumin and weird after taste. All in all if you want seafood go to there. If you like regular stuff youcan get at other Mexican restaurants go to one of the others. Read more

Such a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was very friendly, especially our waiter Collin who was very attentive. The... food was good, but honestly slightly overpriced and in need of a little more flavor. Overall, it's nice and I would visit everyonce in a while. Read more

If you want authentic delicious Mexican food, this is the place to go. Hostess was polite. Server served us fast and... professionally. My birria tacos with the sauce were delicious. My husband had the Carne asada, beans with chorizo bits andnopales (prickly pear). The establishment was clean. It's a nice elegant place if you want to go out for a romantic evening orcelebration...plenty of seating. Plus there is a sectioned area for the bar which looks beautiful. For sure will go again if intown. Read more

From first entering, the restaurant decor and ambience is impressive. It was a busy Saturday night but we were able to be sat... immediately. We ordered the chorizo queso as an appetizer. I am on keto and asked for raw zucchini slices instead of chips andthe were very accommodating. The dip was delicious. My husband had the tacos al carbon and I chose a cup of soup. The servingswere generous and a higher quality than the usual Mexican restaurants. Our server took care of throughout the meal. We willdefinitely be back. Read more

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The building is nice and new but there are many problems at El Charro. First, we got... a booth but upon being seated, we immediately knew we weren't going to be able to sit there. The booth tables are way too closeto the seats and the table is too high for comfort. We moved to a standalone table. Second, upon seeing the menu, I quicklyrealized the prices on the food were really high for a Mexican restaurant. If it?s high end Mexican food, that's one thing, butthis was not. It?s just typical Tex-Mex faire. The food itself was plentiful, but honestly it had no flavor. Bland is how Iwould describe it. El Charro definitely needs to improve its flavoring and reexamine its prices, as there are several otherlocal Mexican restaurants that serve superior tasting food with better prices. Last, but not least, there is a problem withflies in the dining room. We spent the entire evening swatting gnats and house flies. Read more
