Been here many times. The atmosphere can change depending on the weather. Great food?the gator tacos are amazing, but a little... lack on amount. After dinner, take a walk to the end of the property to the water edge; catch a site of local fowl and thegators, but don?t venture to close as the waters can surprise you! This place is located on Lake Jessup and is a great place to go watch the sunset and see wildlife. I have eaten at the... restaurant 5 or 6 times and have never been impressed. The food is okay, better than McDonald's but definitely not great. Theyare way over priced. Tonight I went to see the sunset and I got a coke and piece of key lime pie. And they charged me $5.99(before tax) for this teeny tiny piece of pie. I know costs have gone up but seriously this is terrible. On top of being overpriced it was horrible, I didn't finish it. I will not eat here again, this was the last time! I'll got watch sunsets but nofood, just not worth it. The cost was $5.99 for the pie and $3.00 for the coke. The prices are on the menu so you shouldknow how much you charge for your food. The pie was $5.99 by itself and it was awful. When I opened the box I just laughed,it was ridiculous. Not recommended for large groups. The food was average, the mahi tacos and catfish were overly salted. The burgers were really... good. The service sub-sub-par. The food was delivered in 3 parts. 6 plates were delivered, 15 minutes 2 more, 15 minutes 1 moreplate was delivered and the last thing that was ordered had to be retrieved by my husband because the server completely forgotabout us. Really great restaurant in atmosphere will definitely love to throw an event here. The view is amazing gives you a great nature... feel the food is really delicious the service is great. Just a fun place you must do once. Had to try their Florida Gator bites. Nice and fresh and not tough. 2 for 1 margaritas. Fried... fish was very thick and moist. What was nice was a peninsula with docks you could walk out and see all the natural free gators,birds and snakes. Lots of places to sit outside and drink. Came for the Gators and Birds, but since Irma hit they haven't really fully recovered. Decided to give the restaurant a shot as... we didn't drive all that way for nothing. Ordered two Margaritas (with the 2 for 1 deal) and they were delicious according to myfiance. Got a 1/2 lb of gator bites, half blackened and half fried. The fried bites were DELICIOUS AND TENDER. The blackenedbites were seemingly overcooked and slightly rubbery. All in all it was OK. They were friendly and accommodating for us and our1 yr old daughter. Margaritas: They have a 2 for 1 deal on them, as they do taste good, they lack the kick I'm used to having with a well made... margarita. Appetizers: Frog Legs, Gator bites, corn fritters. All of it was made fresh and was delicious. I had not had froglegs or Gator in some many years and both were juicy and tender. Main course: I ordered the mahi-mahi sandwich the blackenedgator tacos and the Florida style gator tacos as well as Texas bacon burger. All of it was cooked to perfection, but somehow thefries really grabbed my attention. They were super fresh and extra crispy, Even after sitting on my plate for a time they werestill were crispy.
