The dynamite maki were delicious. The kamikaze were very bland. My other complaints were that the maki were very thin. The... vegetable tempura was 50% onion rings. ???????????? The other were zucchini and sweet potatoes. I wished there were friendmushrooms, broccoli or pumpkin. The presentation was cute. Read more
Update We did reach out to management after their response to the original one-star review, and they did offer to make things... right by re-doing our order. The rolls tonight were well presented and the fish quality was back up to expectations. ThanksShinka. It is really sad to see one of the better sushi places in Ottawa go from great to terrible. I wish Google would deletethe old reviews because they are quite misleading and don?t reflect the current Shinka offering. Poorly rolled sushi, heavyamounts of rice, old fishy smelling fish. It's my first time to order sushi from Shinka Sushi Bar. Honestly, I think it's one of the best sushi restaurant in Ottawa. I... ordered Omakase 150 for the first time, the quality is very good, but staff made a mistake and some sushi pieces were missing.Emilie and Lina replied my email regarding this issue, and offered me complimentary items for my second order. We tried Shinka Sushi Bar for the first time today. There?s no dine-in, only take out and delivery. We ordered edamame,... carpaccio mix (6 pcs), california maki (6 pcs), dynamite maki (6 pcs), and osaka maki (6 pcs) for two people. The food tastedand looked fresh. Nothing smelled or tasted weird at all. Sauces were very good too. Everything was well-packed and properlysecured. 3/5 because portions and prices could be better.
