Reviews for Overflow Brewing Company in Ottawa, ON
TL,DR: WAAAAY OVER PRICED Beer was decent, drinkable but not great. Over $10 for a pint of beer that is under 5% is crazy... expensive when you?re brewing it on site. Most pints were ~$12/pint where most breweries charge ~$8. The food was even moreridiculously priced, double what it should be. For example I order a taco salad which at $15 should have been at least triplethe size (it was appetizer size). To digress - I just had one of the best handmade, farm to table, pasta dishes at a high-endrestaurant for $14 - not sure what these guys think their pre-made ingredients have on real food but they sure are charging apremium for assembling some low quality ingredients. We also had wings which were terrible, not crispy but also completelylacking in sauce at the same time. At least if you are going to make sad sauceless little things, make them crunchy. Perhapsthey should hire a real chef if they want to advertise food because really it wasn?t edible by my standards and not worth theanimals life. All-in-all for 2lbs of wings, taco salad, and 3 beers we paid $100. Save your money and go to a nice restaurantinstead. Read more
Love the concerts! I have been to quite a few. Great craft beer (pumpkin ale and wit beer!) and beautiful large venue. Staff is... also very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Will visit again for sure. Read more
Just spent a pleasant few hours at Overflow with my daughter and as a first time visitor I was impressed by the friendly staff,... clean washrooms, and excellent beer. Industrial atmosphere means high ceilings, cement floors, solid furniture and loads ofspace as well as a humongous garage door that gives onto a large patio space. Plenty of room for everyone Their beer isexcellent. We each tried a flight, which is 5 four ounce samples of beer (which you pick from the beer menu) for $16. The menudescribes each beer available and it was great fun to compare them and our reactions to the different brews. Since this is amicro-brewery the beer is a little more expensive than that at your local bar but the quality is absolutely worth it. They havelive bands which are cover bands and there is plenty of space. I recommend Overflow without reservation. Read more
$12.96 pints ($14 after tip) normally tip better than that but once I get into $15 pint territory I better be at a major event.... Friendly staff. $12.96 is too much for a 6.5% draft beer made in house. I know, hops are expensive. Gotta draw the line on thepricing somewhere though not to rub someone the wrong way on a $14 pint. Really wanted to like it there and keep coming back.$12.96 is way too high of a base price if you expect your staff to get decent tips. Read more
Nice spot, great to finally get to it. Large venue with lots of space. Indoor and patio seating areas can fit large groups.... Great service. Read more
They produce really good beer but now also have a great venue for indoor and patio dining. They could have a few more options on... the menu but hopefully that will come as they get more established, and having jackfruit as a veggie option for each item isawesome. The venue itself is very nice and new - we'll definitely be back! Read more
Great beer and cider. Nice relaxing atmosphere with snack food. Their pulled back burger is great with fries. But two... improvements to suggest: fries are too salty. The bun can be a bit upgraded. When the concert is happening, you have to getout of the dining area by 7:15pm or so. There are only 5 big tables, so the first come, the first served. Read more
Beer was tasty. I got the pilsner. Don?t get the cauliflower bites, they were soggy. They had a similar texture to mashed... potatoes. They tasted ok but the mouth feel was a 0. But hey, what do I expect, I?m at a brewery, not a pure yoga restaurant. Idid enjoy the pork taco. Overall I?m happy I visited and will likely be back. Read more
