Reviews for Montgomery Scotch Lounge (Event Space) in Ottawa, ON
We had an exceptional experience at Montgomery Scotch Lounge (Gladstone) in July 2022. I was playing in a band at this... restaurant and the staff were very kind to all the band members, even helping us move and store our empty instrument cases. Mywife came to see the show with a “special” guest and they went above and beyond to meet her dietary needs! The service andfood were excellent. I really can't thank the restaurant staff enough for how well they treated us and we look forward to goingback again. Thank you! Read more
Very small location (Bank Street). It is my understanding that the Gladstone location is more of a lounge, but with less of a... whiskey selection.Host was friendly. Location is Oat Couture in the day. More of a Cafe vibe than lounge. Read more
Had an awesome evening here at the Gladstone location. Two different bands played this evening. I'm not much of a scotch person... but they have lots of possibilities for other beverages and a very nice light meals menu. The service is excellent especiallyEric. Delighful place and I will be back with all my friends. Read more
Great selection of scotch and fun flights to enjoy. A sneaky good beer list too. The food is excellent and easy to share. The... live music was a nice touch too. Very happy Montgomery keot the established live music venue that Pressed had. Read more
What a great place ..I have travelled a fair bit and spent much time in Toronto. At one point contemplating a move to Ottawa I... always appreciated the people and the pace this venue has hit the nail on the head. Not only does it have a cool vibe but ithas an understated elegance. The pre-dinner cocktails (scotch based) were awesome ..there were other options for the nonscotch drinkers but if you give it some time there is an inner scotch person in each of us. Delightful meal with outstandingservice. Highly recommend Read more
The early seating of the American Thanksgiving event at the new Gladstone location was stellar. The seasonal cocktail-a mix of... scotch, pumpkin purée and other goodness-amazing! The chef created an interesting twist on the traditional turkey dinner, andwas very receptive to offering a vegetarian option. American football was on TV and the ambiance was inviting enough. The ownerstopped by every table to ensure we were all enjoying ourselves. I only wish this event was more effectively published and moreAmericans participated. We look forward to more special events at this lounge. Read more
Montgomery Scotch Lounge is an under-appreciated hangout spot in the Glebe. This is an ideal spot for having a conversation with... friends where you can actually hear what other people are saying. It's also great taking a date who you want to have a realconversation with. There aren't a lot of mixed-purpose spaces in Ottawa, but this one is done very well. By day, it's OatCouture. By night, it's Montgomery Scotch Lounge. The atmosphere is intimate and relaxed. Everything seems very thoughtful andwell crafted. It's very approachable for people who like a chill place to hang out, but also caters to whiskey snobs. Thedrinks menu is dominated by whiskeys (obviously), but they do have a small cocktail menu where pretty much every option isexcellent. Their whiskey menu is outstanding and rivals any whiskey menu in Ottawa. I personally prefer getting my fancierwhiskies from here because the atmosphere is much more relaxed and the space is better designed than the other whiskey bars I'vebeen to around town. I recommend starting by reading the descriptions of the whiskeys and trying something that you've neverhad before. They have excellent options that cater to most budgets. If you get tipsy really quickly, switch to one of thelow-cost whiskeys or cocktails, because you're not going to notice the difference after a few ;) Last time we went the staffwere new hires, so they were still learning the ropes and service was slower than normal; I trust they've gotten the hang ofthings since then. It's a small place, so there is only one washroom. It's clean and well-kept. They even have a video on loopof Brian Cox (Scottish actor) in the washroom teaching you how to pronounce whiskey names properly. I believe I saw StopGapramp so this place is wheelchair accessible. Once inside the cashier counter and bar are low and easy to access for customers inwheelchairs ? Read more
Excellent selection of scotch. Phenomenal staff went above an beyond to make our experience so memorable. Thank you so much!
