Reviews for Le St. Laurent in Ottawa, ON
After 2 years of not really celebrating our anniversary, we decided to try a very secluded restaurant located in the Penthouse... of a beautiful apartment building on St-Laurent and Dunbarton (Brittany rd). Le St-Laurent is an elegant restaurant, with Ownerand Chef Ryan making some of the most delicious food. He uses local and seasonal ingredients to create his menu, and thisintimate setting has the most amazing view of the Ottawa Valley, the skyline at sunset was to die for and you can see thegatineau hills. Compliments to the chef for not only making such flavourful food, but also hand picking each staff member. Ourserver, Ann, was so sweet and attentive, and the bartender was very friendly and created very delicious cocktails. Now on tothe food and drinks, we decided on a nice Pinot Grigio, later in our meal, we got a few caesars and Sean wanted to try one oftheir specialty cocktails that tasted like an icy apple cider. For the 2 entrées, we got the roasted mushroom soup which wasso creamy and full of flavour, and the beet salad, with little slices of green grapes, nice chunks of orange and red beets, balsamic dressing, topped with grilled Halloumi cheese and roasted nuts, this was one of the best beet salads in Ottawa! Forour Mains, we got the steak and frites, and the braised beef shortrib. The level of quality in these dishes was on point. Thesteak was cooked to our liking and the crispy thin fries were yummy. As for the shortrib, it was pulling apart so easily andmelt in your mouth, and was accompanied by a delious sauce and cauliflower puree. Our overall experience was fantastic andwould love to go again for another tasty beet salad. This is a must try! #supportlocal #ottawafoodiestalker Read more
Food is delicious and ambiance is beautiful. Service is mostly amazing. I don't know why but they brought the main dish very... late, like 40 mins after the appetizers. Other than that everything was perfect. Read more
First time to this great restaurant and can't wait to go again!! We arrived at 5:15 pm on Saturday night. Started to fill up by... 5:45 pm. First of all- there's no bad seat in the restaurant. Everyone can see out of the panoramic windows (although we had aseat directly on the window.) You can see as far as the Gatineau Mountains! Beautiful skyline of Ottawa too. Two of us had theCod and Shrimp dish in a broth with corn that was excellent! One of us had the homemade cavatelli pasta with button mushrooms, green peas, rosemary, parmesan and lemon which was also fantastic! The Gazpacho as well as the 2 colored beet salad with tinypickled apples and goat cheese croquettes were also great appetizers!! Great place for special occasions, out of town guests andjust to treat yourselves!! Not inexpensive but in line in what it's worth- great food, great views and great service! Read more

We dined out last night at the Le St Laurent a Penthouse restaurant not far from the 403...everything in Ottawa is only 10... minutes away. Great views of the Ottawa city skyline as well as the Gatineau... We started with martinis...gin...for my Momand brother... and Grey Goose vodka for me. For starters James and I had beet salad...included in the salad were mellon ballsize pickled apples...which were spectacular! Mom had the soup made with root vegetables and apple...she is still raving aboutit this morning. We selected our wines to have with the entrees...James selected a Pinot Noir, I selected a Grenache (I havealways preferred reds as I tend to find whites too acidic), and Mom after sampling the entire selection of whites settled on thePinot Grigio. ???? For the mains Mom and I had the scallops and James the rabbit. Both dishes were great...complex tastes thatwere delicious. Dessert was Sticky Toffee Pudding with homemade vanilla bean ice cream for James and Creme Brule for Mom andI. I will note the caramelized sugar topping on the Creme Brule was just a tad thick for our liking but overall it wasdelish. Will definitely visit the restaurant again...special note...due to Covid-19, seating is very limited, andappreciated! PS...I need to add the staff was great...they make you feel welcomed and special!
