We ordered three things from Cumin and Pepper: - Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Nothing overly special but still good, maybe a... 7/10 - Wonton noodles with black garlic oil. Delicious. Handmade noodles are dense but delicious and fully cooked through, niceflavourful light soup base. Would get again. -Mix platter. This guy was disappointing. The skewers are very small, and while thebeef and lamb were alright, the chicken was not great. I wouldn't order this again. Overall, go for the noodles, not theskewers. Gonna have to keep looking for a good skewer restaurant in Ottawa. Read more
Cumin and pepper is my ALL time favorite. It's delicious whether you dine in or take out. Just look at these food photos to see... how much I love this restaurant lol! Times -Chicken Wings Are Over Priced Detailed Review: Ottawa is not the first place that comes to mind when you think of greatdiverse food but Cumin and Pepper suddenly might just change that! Aside from having friendly staff the food here is great.Their offer a variety of meat and vegetarian options with rice, udon or as platters. Almost all the items taste great on theirmenu. I would high suggest giving these guys a shot. The only 2 setbacks include the fact that order times are long (approx 30+mins) and their ghost pepper wings are far too overpriced (4 small wings for $9 is a little too much). Aside from that theseguys really have some great food with reasonable pricing. They serve halal/kosher at this location as well! Read more
This was a pleasant discovery i must say. The location is quite hidden so i doubt visitors are able to find it easily without... searching for it on map. The place was quite empty yesterday (Sep 5th) but was clean, and had a bottle of hand sanitizer at thedoor. You also have access to the menu at the door. We got seated and ordered the mix platter and spicy tofu. Took a bit tocome out but we got served some sour strawberry in the meantime (free) and it was delicious. Not too sweet at all. The mixplatter is the star of the show. ???? Looked good, well presented and tasted delicious. Everything was freshly made and stillhot (meat and skewers). Enjoyed it and was enough for 2. Then we had the spicy tofu (came with rice). I wasn't expecting it tobe that much so i couldn't finish it but it was also good but very spicy ????. I also would have preferred the tofu to be fried(it came out too soft for my liking). We were also given some rolls and eggs afterward. Overall this was a very pleasantdiscovery and loved the food. This restaurant is amazing. Highly recommend grilled chicken & rice, the sauce and veggie provide a fresh taste of spring, which... is a perfect accompaniment to the grilled chicken. If you are a spicy lover, Signature Hot & Spicy ShabuShabu With noodle (alsoknown as BoBo chicken) is your choice. Clams in foil is just so so.
