Reviews for Bombay Garden Indian Cuisine in Ottawa, ON
They visited uOttawa today and had a table set up. I purchased a pack of 6 spring rolls, she gave me 5. There was barely any... filling inside. Mostly just dough. Would not recommend. Read more
I'm from Montreal and have been to Bombay Garden a couple of times during visits to Ottawa. In my experience it was always... great! It's a small place, looks like it's family run. They are super nice. The food was always great! I LOVE their shrimpcurry. LOVE LOVE LOVE the papadam! The naan bread was delicious! The portions are reasonable, but you still leave super full!:D Every time I go to an indian restaurant in my neck of the woods I always compare it to Bombay Gardens :) I'm very surprisedto see negative reviews. The next time I visit Ottawa, I'm going back for sure! Read more
Incredibly disappointing. You'll be much better off buying a jar of sauce and a chicken breast from the grocery store. I'm... obsessed with Indian Food. I live near probably the best Indian restaurant in the city. Staying at my girlfriends I decided tigive this place a shot. I regret trying this place twice. The samosas are good if you can get lucky enough to get the right oneand the sauce. The butter chicken is alright, not bad but not great. The chicken Tika Masala was alright as well. They justaren't as flavourful as any other Indian restaurant I've tried. The portion size is a joke. The Chicken Tika Masala was mostlynearly raw green peppers. Not even a full chicken breast worth of chicken. The rice was drenched in water. The Naan is such alet down. I can buy the same thing from loblaws. If this is your only experience with Indian food you are severely missing out.Fresh made Naan is an absolute must! Will not be ordering from here again. Read more
Worst Indian food I?ve had by far. Not sure how this place is still open. To say portions are small would be an understatement.... I?ve never felt more ripped off by a restaurant! Flavour is completely lacking in all the curries and the chicken vindaloo mightas well be categorized as vegetarian since it was 99% potatoes with 2 small pieces of chicken. Papadums were stale, probablyfrom the day before, and the naan was not fresh and store bought. Never again. Don?t waste your money you will just bedisappointed. Read more
Just Awful. It was the only place open with seating on Labour Day. Unfortunately I sat down and ordered before I read the... on-line reviews. A small serving of poor quality curry containing undercooked potatoes. Served with a tiny portion of stale ricewith congealed clumps and a supermarket naan. I've had some poor Indian food in Canada but this was the worst, and for only$22. Benefit from my experience and keep away! Read more
This is my worst food experience ever. Expensive but taste poorly. One order comes with only a few pieces of meat and the dish I... ordered was literally worse than a 5 dollar street food. They put small portion of the dish I ordered with the same amount ofblack beans which has no taste at all and fill the rest of the box with rice. It is so bad I?m wordless. It?s not about money. Ijust feel like I was being scammed. Read more
I found out about this place while driving by bank street. Saw sign for butter chicken special. I will Start off by saying... service was a little slow. I had to keep yelling out hello before being Acknowledged. Owner and cook were friendly and offered afree sample of some bread. Wait time was under ten minutes for food to come out. Food was decent but I have had better. Reasonfor two stars is because it wasn?t as I expected and service was slow. Read more
Decided to go pick up my dinner and try this restaurant out since it was local and my favourite cuisine is Indian. When I... arrived, the owners had just arrived too. I entered the restaurant and it appeared to be quite run down. There was no place tosit if I decided to dine-in because there were boxes, papers and things everywhere. This made me wonder if they were able tosanitize their space and being precautionary to health regulations. I imagine they may have been working in their food truck andweren?t ready for guests like the other reviews show. This was not suitable environment for dining in and personally would ofkept my doors closed. The chef proceeded to go to the back and prepare my meal. I heard a microwave continuously beep and wonderhow fresh my meal was. I paid about $28 for a butter chicken meal deal, there were 2 other sides but the portions wereincredibly small for the price. I wouldn?t call this a deal. I decided to still give the food a chance and it wasn?t terriblebut definitely not great. My favourite part was the garlic naan and it was slightly burnt unfortunately. I don?t think I willeat here again due to the condition of the restaurant and the portion vs price but I?m glad I was able to try it out. Read more
