My husband and I have been driving to Phoenix for our Thai fix...no more! The food was fantastic! I had no idea we had a REAL... Thai restaurant in Oro Valley. Delicious every time! I have frequented various Thai food restuarants over the year in many cities across the US including... several other places in Tucson. Mali thai has delivered on tasty food each time I visited. I had one time there was a problemwith the total calculation (tax added up incorrectly). When I asked about it, the employee was very apologetic. The managercame out also very apologetic and they took care of everything appropriately. Its almost frustrating that i cannot give this place a better rating. Hear me out. Lets get the positives out of the way. The... food is very clean. Healthy? Some dishes more than others. The venue is clean and bright/vibrant. For $10 the dine in portionsare generous and consistently a good temperature. And that's where it stops. How could it be 2 stars then? Well first of all thefood is very clean, as in bland. Painfully so. During my first visit i forgot to order my food to be made spicy (as is one ofthe first things they mention on the menu that any item can be customized to your desired level of spicy) so i asked for chiliand got a dry ground type of red pepper and a wet chili sauce/paste which helped wake up the food a bit. So on my second visit itried to order my food made spicy from the kitchen and the waitress told me no? She offered some under her breath explanationabout how the other patrons didnt like it (it was a predominantly older Caucasian crowd on both days) and that she would justbring me chili to spice up my food (they didnt bring me the dry seasoning this time). Why have it be an option at the very startof your menu if you are going to refuse me? They forgot to bring me a lunch salad on my 2nd visit. Another note of frustrationis that they give you a very small glass of water and they dont refill it nearly fast enough. I was thirsty before, during, andafter my visits! We tried them for the first time last night and were glad we did. My family really liked the fresh rolls, red curry and pad Thai... dishes. I went here as a recommendation from a friend, It did not disappoint. Everything was delicious . I had the crispy wings ,... sticky rice , shrimp green curry (medium heat) & of course a thai iced tea. Everything was tasty , flavorful and service wasfriendly & quick. 10/10 recommended .
