Reviews for Royal Oak Restaurant in Orillia, ON
Just ordered take away. Once again they shorted us on our order. Ordered online, should be zero confusion. Print out of order... states it all. Maybe a game they play, hoping you don't notice or perhaps you are willing to overlook. Food costs are high.Restaurants should recognize that people are trying to support them. Please get it right. Appoint an expediter to verify orderas its packed up for pickup/ delivery. Read more
Cantonese Chow Mein had lots of meats & vegetables and was nice and saucy. Was hot when it arrived. Would give 5 ??'s if the... delivery fee wasn't so outrageous!!! Read more
We initially chose this restaurant because of the great reviews. And here's ours. We've only ever done takeout, but it's always... tasted great & stayed hot the whole drive home. We live 25 mins away, there are other Chinese restaurants closer to where welive, but we choose here for a reason. The ladies who work front of house have always been so pleasant with me & I can tell theyalways appreciate me choosing them for our dinner plans. Read more
Food was so bad. Bought two egg rolls. All that was in them was a few grey brown bean sprouts that I could not even chew.
Haven?t had Royal Oak in over 15 years. I used to enjoy it. We ordered Royal Oak today for lunch, which I had my wife pick up on... her way home from work. We ordered 2 of the number 5 combo plates. This has been the ABSOLUTE worst Chinese food I?ve ever had.The chicken balls were shrivelled up, and the chicken fried rice was dry and hard. The bean sprouts seemed to be the freshestthing in the plate. The shrimp batter seemed dry, almost as if it wasn?t fresh, and just reheated. We are wondering if becausewe ordered on a slow Sunday, did we get busy Saturday nights left overs? Totally unimpressed with the food, and after tastingeach item in the plate, I snapped the lid back on and walked away from the table, because it wasn?t good enough to enjoy. Totalwaste of money. A forever lost customer. Read more
Good food and friendly staff. The dumplings were really nice.
I used to like this restaurant. My mom used to live in Orillia 4 years ago and we frequently ate at this place. But when I came... back and tried the food, it's just not the same anymore. Chowmien has too much sauce and a little bland, shanghai noodles aretoo salty, other chicken with rice tasted like few days old. Broccoli tasted fresh and was nicely cooked. Their poutine was sobad. It was packed and busy with the locals on a Sunday night but most of the other restaurants downtown are already closed so Iam not sure if they are there coz they want to or they just didn't have lots of option. We were supposed to go have fish andchips but was already closed so we ended up here. Should have driven a little more. The smell of the restaurant isn't appetizingtoo. Smells like a very old place, almost moldy. Read more
Just spent $50 on lunch. Ordered chow mein and got lo mein. And one of the containers wasn't properly sealed and leaked all over... my car! Never eating here again. Read more
