Ok, a Shari's is not likely to get a 5 star, just to be honest upfront. It's a "local" denny's that I have fond memories of... growing up. It looked exactly the same as every Shari's I have been to since I was in the 3rd grade, so a couple/few decades. IfI didn't have the nostalgia the atmosphere wouldn't be appealing so can only give 2 on that. The food was what I would expectfor my selection which is a solid 4 (for me) but had to take off an extra star because my son ordered off their seasonalspecialty & they didn't have all the ingredients for it. Luckily he is not picky and they did their best with what they had.And, realistically if not for my own nostalgia I am not sure a first time visitor would have been as generous. As for service,our server did his best. I am not sure if it was his first day, or if he is always so unaware of the menu. If he was new, wishhe would have said so cause I have worked food service & wouldn't have been so judgmental. He didn't know what questions to ask(how do you want your steak, how do you want your eggs, bacon or sausage, bread or pancakes) based off what was ordered. I don'tblame him per say but lack of training, or lack of communicating cause I have no problem going thru my choice &finding/answering required questions. That combined with our food taking a a really long time to come out (family of 3, sat &ordered before a table of 2 & they had their food 5-10 min before us) & coming out incomplete (my steak breakfast didn't havethe steak) & spending so long waiting to pay it was at best ok, and borderline annoying. I made eye contact with our servertwice standing at the register before a totally different server rang us out. I didn't change my tip, because I still feellike he was doing the best he could in the situation. Sharis is a budget restaurant. My breakfast burrito was very good. The service was excellent . Shari's is fortunate to have her... as part of the team. I hope they take care of their staff. Read more
First of all, waitress was awesome. But the restaurant was filthy, the hard floor and rugs were coated in black, the restroom... was disgusting, paper all over the floor, sink and counter filthy, one toilet full of brown water and matter with a lame ?wetfloor? leaning on the door. But I had to enter that stall to get toilet paper for the other stall. Our first choice of orderhad unavailable items, and when the food came, my guacamole was a brown avocado on top of chopped purple onions. The BLT hadwarmed, not toasted bread, and two half slices of bacon. Very haphazard food prep, and it showed. And of course, a dirty fork. Disappointing. Would not recommend. Read more
My 3-year-old daughter and I were promptly seated. We sat for over 10 minutes in an empty restaurant with nobody coming to offer... us drinks or anything. A few drivers came in to pick up orders, so maybe they were busy, but I would think that dine-incustomers would be treated as somewhat important. Seems like customer service is going out the window. Spilled water at the table and asked the server to get towels. Instead they took another tables order while we sat for 6 minutes... in a puddle of water. After the table was cleaned server proceeded to take other tables orders who had been Sat after us. Themanager was very nice and helped out but everytime we come here the customer service is awful Read more
I was here this morning with a friend, about 6:30 or so. The food was fine, and service was okay. The cleanliness of the... dining area was horrible. The inside of the windows had cob webs and debris. It wasn?t just the window of our table, going outthe door was the same on those windows also. There was also a need for vacuuming as a lot of debris on carpeting. Certainlywon?t be returning to this location. We were seated near the Video poker room. Also saw a fly it Nat flying around. I didn?tmention any of this to my friend I was with, as we were both tired and I didn?t want to spoil it as she?d had a medicalappointment and didn?t want to stop elsewhere as I know she wanted to get home. Second time I went in there when I just got off work, was told it would be a 30 to 40 min. wait, that they weren't taking any... tables right now due to staffing issues, the same waitress did this twice before, I've never had that happen except for thissame waitress, I don't know her name but I will find out, went there last week, same time, same night, no problem at all gettingseated and served, I'm thinking maybe because I was in uniform but I'm not sure? My waitress was absolutely a stunning lady not just her looks but her personality tooo.. she has only been working at Shari's 5... weeks and she was a pro as if she has been there for years.. Our food was delicious for sure.. but our waitress is what we willbe back for.. good service can make the world of difference.. Read more
